It was my second stay at Taleju Boutique Hotel and there will be a third one hopefully in the future if I ever return to Kathmandu. The hotel has the best location at Thamel. On the one hand you will be two minutes walk away from all the restaurants and night life, while on the other hand you will enjoy a peaceful stay in a beautiful serene hotel located on a quiet side street. The service is top-notch. All the employees there, from the receptionists to the cleaning ladies, guards and restaurant staff are extremely curteous and professional. The hotel is very well maintained, clean and the rooms are just great. I stayed on the sixth floor with an incredible view over town and a huge terrace attached. Spent beautiful peaceful evenings having tea there. I couldn't recommend the hotel enough!

The rooms and facility is clean and quiet. We were on the courtyard side. It is easy to arrange tours with kind and highly knowledgeable guide like Mr. Hari or multiple day activities up to Anapourna base camp by HL through the desk mgr, Januka. Great menu choices and breakfast is available at convenient hours. The bathroom was not so great for the shower stands by the toilet seat and sink. While a sliding curtain helps the bathroom get flooded and it can be slippery if you are not careful. Faucets knobs are reversed both sink and shower fixture. There is no appropriate bath towel holders. Bus ride to Pokhara took 8 hours while booked in a comfortable bus. There are plenty of road works half way through which cause heavy slowdown or just being stuck up to 35 minutes.

Great stay at Taleju Boutique Hotel. Perfect location in Thamel—central yet quiet for a good night’s rest. Beautiful property with a charming courtyard and rooftop terrace. Rooms are spacious, very clean, and comfortable. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended! Breakfast variety could be better

The Taleju had everything I needed after a trek. The room has a hot water kettle for tea; the bath had shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbush, etc and plenty of hot water for a long shower. There is a spa for a massage and same day laundry service. It was quiet and in a great location. It is reasonably priced. A face pillow on the massage table would have been nice and more cleansing for my facial.

They also picked us up from the airport, and communication was very easy. It is on the edge of the Thamel, which has some benefits but of you are looking to be as central as possible to the thamel you should be aware of that (it is walking distance from everywhere). The shower doesn't have a stall inside the bathroom (only curtains) so it makes the whole room wet (like almost all places in Nepal).

Breakfast spread was great, the staff were friendly, the pick up was efficient and the room was comfortable. the hot water takes some time to warm up.

The courtyard is lovely and peaceful, a great break from the busy Thamel streets. Staff were always lovely. The rooms leave a little to be desired at this price. Some are quite cramped while others are more spacious. Things are a little cheap or broken and some odd choices for example only over head lights, no lamps.

Beautiful room and garden in a very small side road in central Thamel that was really quiet. Great to relax before or after trekking including massages.

Wonderful staff - friendly, attentive and efficient. The hotel's courtyard is a nice peaceful setting and the restaurant offers very good food. The hotel has a spa, and massages are good quality and good value. Never felt unsafe walking around the area.

Staff kindness, proximity to the market and the center. The little garden next to the restaurant was cozy and nice. They kindly upgraded our room. The road in front of the hotel was muddy so it was really uncomfortable after the rain (July 2025). It is however OK if you have good trekking shoes. They mentioned that this road will be repaired soon

Nicely located just few steps away from noisy and busy Thamel tourist area with restaurants and shops this hotel seems to be hidden gem of calm and relaxation. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, everything you need is there. Breakfast you can have outdoors in the inner yard. Coffee is perfect to start the day!

Friendly staff, welcome drink, much appreciated sleep after long flights. Chemical or oil smell nuisance, super slippery floor in room.
