Toyoko Inn at Kumamoto train station is excellent. It's literally 2 minutes walking distance from the train station, and right there at a big shopping mall that hosts several stores, innumerous restaurants (including Liebe Wagyu which is excellent). Rooms are big for Japanese city standards, extremely clean, breakfast is good, staff is helpful. Definitely recommend. Nothing, it exceeded expectations.

Right next to Kumamoto station and very friendly staff. Great view of the city and the station from my room. Spotty wifi in my room seemed to drop pretty often.

The breakfast is a very simple japanese breakfast. The limited choices of bread provided aren't that great.

Clean room and they changed towels every day There was a coffee machine on lobby. Coffee was free but not good. Only tea bags for the room, and no instant coffee was provided

The place was great because of its location, it is located right near Kumamoto station and it’s accessible to the stations restaurants/ malls/ conbini stores so that was very convenient. breakfast was good as well with many options to pick from since its buffet style but the room is slightly small for us non locals in Japan hahaha The room was a bit tight and small for my liking

Best location. A few steps away from Kumamoto Station and tram stop. Good quality bed and bigger than most hotels.

As others have mentioned, the breakfast room is directly in the lobby and I also liked the selection of food and drinks here less than in other Toyoko Inn hotels I've stayed in before. For some reason there was a really bad smell in the bathroom from the beginning. The WiFi was not stable at all so I could hardly use it.

The lobby is the breakfast venue, too small for the number of guests. The crowding made it difficult to access the food or return dishes after the meal. The breakfast itself was not as extensive as I 've come to expect from a Toyoko Inn, no fruit or juice, for example.

The hotel is conveniently located about a 5-minute walk from Kumamoto Station. The room matched the photos, was clean, and comfortable. The staff were very helpful, making the stay pleasant overall.

The staff at the hotel promised me early check-in, but when I got there, they attempted to charge me 4000 yen to check in early. I feel like the front desk staff were dishonest. They should have been upfront about charges for early check-in.

The room is a good size for a solo traveler, and cleanliness meets standard expectations. The hotel is conveniently located next to the JR and Shinkansen stations, as well as the tram line, making it easy to explore the area. One downside is that the mirror is positioned directly facing the bed, which feels a bit uncomfortable. Additionally, the pillows are quite soft, which might not be ideal for everyone.

One of my favourite hotels while travelling in Japan. Just by railway station, mall, supermarket a few meters from the doors. Parking garage if you have rental car. Stuff is very caring. Breakfast is good (and also there is espresso and cappuccino machine with a good coffee:). Well connected by public transport to all areas of the city Can’t think of anything
