Somewhere Lombok

The location is stunning- set up on a hill overlooking the ocean.

Loved our 3 night stay at Somewhere Lombok. The food was honestly top notch—we ended up eating there most of the time because it was so good! The menu was varied enough that we never got bored, with both Indonesian and Western dishes. On our first night, we had the Indonesian feast, and it ended up being one of our favourite meals of the trip. We'd already spent an evening in Kuta before checking in and felt the restaurant scene at the hotel was easily comparable, so there wasn't much reason to head out for meals. The views from the cliffside are incredible, and one of my favourite little touches was the open-air safari truck they use around the property. It's such a fun way to get around and really lets you take in the landscape. The rooms were beautiful too. They were incredibly well ventilated, so we left the windows open every day, which made the whole place feel really connected to nature. The staff were all warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive throughout our stay. Emil was especially responsive and thoughtful, making sure we were well looked after from the moment we arrived. She also gave us great recommendations, including Codium Beach Club nearby, which we really enjoyed. The property itself is effortlessly chic, with beautiful design and thoughtful details throughout. And if Wi-Fi matters to you, this was by far the fastest we experienced anywhere in Lombok. Would definitely stay here again. Nothing I didn't like.

The location is fantastic, but the staff really make this place stand out!! Always happy and willing to go the extra mile for any request!! The food, the drinks, and of course the villa are excellent! I highly recommend!! Nothing negative at all!!

Beautiful villas with a lovely view from the hotel lobby and pool. The restaurant had delicious meals and the staff was so kind! Gaio was especially attentive and welcoming. The massages were so relaxing, my husband and I ended up going back every day! The hotel is such a nice escape from the bustle of Kuta and was very tranquil.

The staff was unbelievable friendly. Loved the food in the restaurant. The location is quiet and offers an amazing view of the sunrise.

I really wanted to love this property, but I ended up only liking it. The pool area and view from the pool are spectacular. The food, though limited in choice, was good. The drinks were also very good. The first villa they gave me had no view whatsoever, it faced onto another villa. They took one look at my face when I walked into the room and knew I wasn’t happy. They were able to move me to a villa with an unobstructed view the next day, but still, for a hotel that sells itself based on the views, the fact that they have villas on a steep hillside location without a few is odd. Sell them as obstructed view, but not as if they are the same. The villas I had were on the edge of the property. At 6:30am a huge water truck arrived at what I assume is the neighboring property and made REALLY loud noises for about half an hour. I didn’t say anything, but then it happened again (in the evening) a day or so later. There’s probably not much they can do about it, but be aware. I wouldn’t call the rooms “villas”. Yes they are standalone, but they look very much like minimalist hotel rooms. I didn’t find them luxurious, just spartan. The “plunge pool” is laughable. It’s like an outdoor bathtub. I didn’t even bother to use it. The lobby/restaurant area is okay. There are a few sun loungers, and some [frankly] dirty bean bag like chairs to sit in. The reception desk is just a table with a staff member at it; no seating for the guest(s), just for the staff. And basically, that’s the whole resort: a pool with a beautiful view, some loungers, some bean bags, and a restaurant with a limited menu. I just sort of expected more. Lastly, and maybe this is just picky, the place is very casual. Staff members wear shorts or trousers and T-Shirts. But, multiple times I noticed the T-Shirts were just dirty and stained. Casual T-shirts are fine, but dirty is not. I also had an issue with my laundry.

We really enjoyed our stay at Somewhere. It's amazing how much thought was put into designing this resort, every little detail was created with such care, it's incredible. We received a warm welcome, the shuttle driver who picked us up at the airport gave both of us a bottle of ice-cold water straight from the fridge, which came as a nice surprise. They also gave us wet towels to freshen up after our flight. The villa itself was very spacious and luxurious, and the views were breathtaking. The food was very good, and every meal was filling and simply delicious. The staff were so friendly and sincere, we really enjoyed chatting with them. The use of low-power electronics, while understandable given the focus on sustainability, renders some of the appliances useless. Specifically, the fridge/mini-bar could not even keep drinks (and corn) cool, raising the question whether it makes sense to provide it at all. Perhaps it would be better and potentially more eco-friendly to just provide an icebox on demand (like the one your drivers have for water bottles) or something along those lines. Asking the staff for ice-filled glasses is also possible, but going up and down the stairs whenever you need ice is not too scalable xD

Atunning view, just like the photos. Excellent service, super tasty breakfast, calm, relaxing atmosphere. Rather pricey spa and restaurant (compared to the nearby places), but the food in the restaurant is really good. The swimming pool is huge and almost always empty. One of the most comfortable beds I had while traveling. Far from everything, but we had been ready for this, so it wasn't a deal-breaker. They have free shuttle to the city and back several times a day. Plus you may ask them for the transfer to/from any nearby place (we have walked to the beach and the nearest village, and then came back with their pick-up service). Nearby beach is so-so. Good for surfing, but nothing really special for the rest of us :)

The view is unmatched and unique view from the hill. Worth the extra effort to reach there. I really appreciate all the staffs, shutter car to the city is convenient, I really appreciate this hotel that they care of environment and nature. No single use plastic. On the clear night sky, you can do mini stargazing. Which is a wow for someone who lives in the city I don’t advise an inexperienced rider to take the motorbike to the hotel because of dangerous curves

Amazing staff and facilities AND close proximity to Kuta Lombok area :) If you have a lot of things planned around Mataram/Senggigi area then this hotel is pretty far on the other side. But if you’re looking for a place to chill and enjoy sitting with yourself and enjoying the company of friends or loved ones then this is the place for you. Also great for surfers ?

The staff was really nice and communications were conducted via whatsapp since the rooms are located in the hills. The environment was soothing. Location wise, it is perched on a hill and the ride up and down the hill to the nearest kuta area was bumpy due to the gravel. We rented a motobike and it can be pretty dangerous during the rain.
