Great facilities, beautiful pool and great outdoor bathroom. Big room and very clean. Difficult to access, value for money was a bit high for Indonesia.

I loved Porter, the staff was amazing (!!) and the facilities just as nice. It may be located a bit "off" but I thought that came with a calmness (up until the construction started) that was surprising for Kuta. The food and drinks are great, I still miss the chicken wrap and tokio chicken. I stayed in the dorms of the hotel, and honestly the rooms and beds were great - stable bunks with curtains you can pull to give you some peace if needed. Liked that the lockers were outside so you did not have to wake ppl / be woken by ppl going surfing at 05.00! Pool area is outstanding - but could use some more sunbeds from time to time! To be noted: I stayed at Porter twice. After a short trip to other parts of Indonesia, I was heading back to Lombok and could not imagine staying anywhere else. And this was despite the ongoing construction when I was there. My first stay I had the breakfast package, but for a place that has "all-day breakfast" for its walk-ins I did not understand ahead of booking that this courtesy was not extended to the breakfast deal guests. In short, I missed a lot of my already paid for breakfasts as I was out surfing with a surf school and sometimes the sessions / transports were delayed. I tried texting a few times and get confirmation that I could have my breakfast later, sometimes it worked but sometimes it was too late in general. I do not really understand the logic behind this, as Porter is a surf retreat (and hence aware of the times you keep) and are serving the breakfast dishes all day anyway. So if you are a morning surfing, I would not recommend paying for the breakfast package. Would also have loved a lounge / hang-out area that was not the pool or the restaurant for even more social opportunities.

One of the nicest dorms I've ever stayed at! Great rooms with a nice, functional common area for dorm guests. The garden and pool are great, and so are the staff. Everyone was super friendly and kind!

Wish there was access to the yoga space for guests to use besides classes, because its a nice space to stretch/workout with a view, but is locked at all times when there aren't classes, which is only 1-2x a day so seems like a waste of space most the day. Restaurant was pretty mediocre, could definitely improve there. Construction was happening outside hotel and very loud during the day.

I liked that there was a nice pool, yoga classes twice a day, the option to take surfing lessons, the food was amazing, the staff were so attentive and on top of things with great suggestions. N/a

Superb dorm, maybe the best I have been in throughout many years of travelling. With roll up window at each bed! Very nice pool and yoga teachers. Quite a bit of construction noise ongoing during weekdays as they are building lots of houses around the area

Air con didn’t work very well. Difficult to get there on a bad road

Everything. I was greeted by a welcoming staff helping me with my stuff. Very thorough with the explanation of all the amenities they have to offer. Very clean rooms and bathroom/common area.

The road getting to Porter is a bit gnarly especially when wet. The incline to get at the property was also very steep.

Everything. I stayed in the 6 person’s dormitory, and had my sleep ever. So comfy, clean, everyone is friendly, the pool is amazing. They will make your bed everyday and will change your towels every 2 days. The road to come here is a dirt one and is up a hill so if you not confident at all driving a scooter maybe I won’t stay here but otherwise no issues

The host, Jane Porter, was always on the grounds and a very warm welcomer. Yoga classes were great with yin typically in the afternoon. Pool was perfect, though more chairs would be nice. Food was delicious. This is one of my favorite hotels.

Everything about this hotel was amazing! It was super clean and aesthetic, quiet and secluded and the service was amazing - Kamel was incredible attentive and even gave us a lesson on riding a scooter, so we were then able to rent a scooter for the rest of the trip which made getting around a lot easier! The included breakfast was also incredible, healthy and delicious and the food and drink menu was also great and very good value. A few minor things - the road to the hotel is very bumpy and the hotel is a little far away - not a problem once we had the scooter though. The road is out of the hotels control though but hopefully it is improved soon! The other thing was there was some mould on the ceiling in our bathroom. I think this was due to the bathrooms not having fans so the hot steam / air from the shower gets trapped in there, however they quickly cleaned it once we let the hotel know.

We liked everything. The hotel vibe, the restaurant menu (breakfast and lunch/dinner), the location is amazing as you’re close to everything but you feel like in the middle of the jungle. Also the bed was super comfy. Favourite stay of our trip by far.
