It had a certain smell that was uncomfortable tbh.. I couldn’t enjoy it and felt that it’s not very clean

Lost earbuds in room. Probably mixed up in the sheets. Never found them. Considering the price, the room was very small for 2 people. Bathroom had a huge step to get in.

Central location in downtown, ease in using public transportation. Cleanliness and value for money - onsen and complimentary breakfast. Friendliness and competence of staff. Breakfast was sufficient but not terribly exciting. The room was a bit difficult to maneuver around. A strategically placed shelf for shoes might help with that.

Loved the location and cleanliness of the room. The onsen was a bit dirty and dated, most of all the water was not flowing/was not as hot as any of the other onsens we've visited.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and the rooms weren't available yet. The staff was able to help get our bags stored so we were able to explore Kyoto without all the lifting. He was even complementing our sons shirt. Clean area and very close to the bus station/train station. Pretty good location if you area going to explore Kyoto

The staff was exceptional! They assisted with my bag transfer and spoke with the staff at the Ryokan to schedule a shuttle. The rooms were great with space to eat and easy to access sleep wear by the elevator. The breakfast was worth every penny! Lots to choose from, leaning more towards a traditional Japanese breakfast. The location is only 2 blocks from lots of restaurants and shopping. The step to enter the bathroom is a bit high than normal leading to a bruised foot during our stay. The bathroom is as pictured with updated items, however, there was a dark ring at the bottom of the tub drain. The onsen on site was a great addition to the facilities offered, however, there should be a time frame for foreigners with tattoos to enjoy the onsen as well.

Everything is well-designed and helpful for the traveller. 24-hour access. Breakfast is Japanese style and excellent. Luggage storage is provided in the lobby even after check-out. Complementary comfy bathwear for multinight stay. Wonderful location! Bath area has attractive decour, but is a not that large and water not really hot enough for a Japanese onsen spa. Very good traditional area for pre-/post-bath wash. Unfortunately some foreign guests don't really know how to use it according to Japanese hygiene standards, despite guidance provided. Suggest they add a sauna or steam bath, and raise the water temperature.

Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Needed two rooms as travelling as a family of 4. The double room was small for 2 people with luggage but manageable, our sons twin room was larger. The location was excellent, close proximity to Nishki Markets and subway. Gion district was walkable - around 2km walk. Close to main shopping district, overall a great place to stay - clean, great staff and excellent location. Size of the double room was a little tight but didn't impact our stay, still met our needs.

The service was incredible and the hotel has everything I needed, plus in an exceptional location. I had a very comfortable stay, the room itself is normal size for Japan, but still spacious and cozy. Everything was clean and the public areas were spotless. I want to thank the staff for the great and friendly service at all times, definitely will stay next time!

Twin room was spacious, light-filled, clean, and well equipped. Beds medium-firm comfortable with 2 pillow profiles. Buffet breakfast mostly traditional and good variety. Downstairs breakfast room is later open to guests who want to dine in with their own supplies from nearby supermarkets (microwave on same level). I'm happy to have traditional desk-bench setup where I can spread out; there's also a built-in sofa that can be used for extra luggage; big tick for individual control of air conditioner. This is one of few hotels where reception staff are not in a corner with check-in kiosks; here they see the guests coming and going, greet them, and offer friendly contact. I'm sensitive to noise and this hotel was comfortable in terms of internal noise such as air conditioning, fridge hum, and bathroom fan (could be switched on when needed). Neighbourhood: city is walkable from here, but also close to main intersection and various public transport. Plenty of eateries all around. Windows do open but only enough for an eel to pass through - I'd suggest another 20 cms won't hurt anyone; sliding-style windows not the best for external noise (nearby renovation works and at times lively street) but even so it was fine keeping it open most of the time. Fridge too weak and is a health concern if needing to keep food at the required temperature (one was replaced promptly because not cooling at all). Wifi security: hotel wifi was pretty patchy; I often received warnings about the security of the encryption protocol used (the insecure TKIP) - I passed info onto management so perhaps it will be reviewed in future. Step-up bath unit; scratchy non-breathable room wear.

The location was a short walk from the Nishiki Market. Not super close to subway, but a short walk. The breakfast was not good. The room was very small.

Location Rooms. Too small and hard to accommodate

Great location and very nice staff. Parking was a couple of blocks away and you can only pre-pay two days. Meaning you need to move your vehicle out and drive back in and pay the charges at the hotel each 2 days.
