I knew this hotel would be great when many locals stayed here. The service is amazing. Rooms were clean. Staff were always smiling and helpful. Bonus the onsen, the free late night ramen and their amazing breakfast. You cannot go wrong with this hotel. It is close to EVERYTHING either by walking or taking the bus. We would definitely stay at this Dormy or any other Dormy in Japan again.

Onsen was large, nice, and clean. Free ramen was a bonus. Staff was very helpful. Great location right by Kyoto station Only 2 total pillows, and pillows were thin and hard. Very uncomfortable mattress

Breakfast was diverse, many choices, easy to vary from day to day. Very convenient location (1/2 block from Kyoto Station) as long as you leave by the correct exit (following signs for the buses or Central exit was easiest for me). Surprisingly quiet for the most part; no outside noise during my stay. Tatami only in room versus entire hotel. The property is owned by the same group as Onyado Nono Asakusa, which is entirely covered with tatami, making it very quiet inside. Pillows are very firm. I brought my own travel pillow but eventually got used to the one provided. Definitely a city vibe. “Views” of other building walls and parking lot.

So close to Kyoto station. Lots of places to eat around that area. Breakfast was excellent and mostly Japanese style food. The complementary evening ramen was also a surprising treat. The rooms were a decent size. Rooms were a little outdated but clean

The location is excellent—less than a 5-minute walk from the main station. We arrived early in the morning from the airport by train, walked out of the station, and spotted our hotel right across the street. We were able to drop off our bags and start exploring the city immediately. When we came back after dinner, all of our luggage had already been moved to our room, so we didn't have to haul it ourselves! We went straight to the onsen floor and took a shower without even unpacking, which was incredibly convenient since they provide soap and shampoo at the sitting showers next to the bath. Soaking there completely melted away all of our travel fatigue and chaos—the onsen really did the trick! As a wonderful bonus, there was free ice cream right by the exit. What a treat! Breakfast was also fantastic, featuring a wide variety of both Japanese and Western options. Lastly, I had an accident during the trip (completely unrelated to the hotel), and the hotel manager was incredibly helpful. No mirror fixed on the wall above the vanity table. It is hard to apply my face products correctly.
