    Location Small

We really liked the Onsen spa that was included in this hotel stay. It was so great to relax there after a full day of sightseeing. There were many stations (there were at least 8, I think but I did not really count) to give yourself a thorough cleaning - each had a faucet, a plastic large basin and also a shower hose and a mini plastic stool to sit on. They also had shampoo, conditioner and body wash available. There was a large big hot basin inside but I really liked was the outdoor part of the spa. It had walls but the ceiling was open and there was a large slatted window to see outside into the small garden. There was a large traditional hot japanese tub which good for one person and a smaller hot basin that would fit about 5-6 people. The onsen was quite busy but I appreciated the hotel guest services screen which would indicate if the onsen was very busy or not so you could time your visits. This is one of the few hotels of all the ones I stayed in where I really felt a bit stressed about the lack of space. It was really cramped.

Everything! Nice staff, larger room, very clean, and laundry accommodations! Nothing, it was awesome

We've stayed at many hotels in Japan and this is one of our favorites. Everything was excellent-- the room, amenities, friendly personal staff, location, etc. I can't think of anything we didn't like.

    No smoking area

Clean and not too far from the train station. Room is tiny and breakfast is expensive.

Great location, walking distance to train station and great onsen experience.

Location and staff were excellent The early check out, overall poor cleanliness was hard to ignore

The location was amazing. Very close to Kyoto Station, where you can get train and bus. The room was bigger than avarege, and it was very easy to leave our luggage before check in. They also provide baggage transfer from one hotel to other, it was very wasy to do it. The hotel lobby always seemed crowded. A lot of people, the baggages that were going to the transfer stayed on the lobby it self, what gave a bad impression when we first got there.

Breakfast was very varied and fresh (except for the croissants). Started each day off very well. You could eat local style, European style or a mixture of the two. Very copious on choice. The staff at breakfast were very efficient. My big disappointment was on arrival at the start of my stay at this hotel. Instead of having a main desk with human beings who greet you with a smile, you line up and reach a machine in which to put your passport and pay. No human contact. A young man who, very polite, tells you to push in your passport and then push in your credit card. You get a receipt and that's it. Very cold. Not happy or pleasant. Exactly what I say in the paragraph above. I was in agreement with other guests who found that one's arrival in this hotel is very cold, and even unpleasant. Maybe this is technologically expedient for the hotel but not nice for the guests who are giving our money for the upkeep of this hotel. Maybe the direction wishes to eliminate the jobs of receptionists. However a human contact is very necessary when it comes to guests who are paying after all. Especially when it is your first impression of Japan.

    - We were given two very large twin beds. They were essentially double beds. - Nice staff - High price for the standard room we booked. However, it's possible that it was higher due to the large twin beds provided. We also booked at late notice - The hotel dryers are ineffective. I had to run the dryers for a very long time. This can be easily avoided by visiting an external laundromat, it will save you a lot of time and unneeded stress

The closeness to the train station. I didn’t like the floor that I was on. I didn’t like the smallness of the room. I didn’t like the laundry mat process and the number of dryers and machines.

Really close to station. Great location for visiting close destinations, really nice lively neighborhood. If you also want to shop really close. But need to consider it is a budget friendly hotel chain so not to expect US size rooms Coin washers are too limited only 3 dryers. If you wish to wash clothes prefer after 2 AM

This is better than your average APA. Updated and rooms slightly bigger. Onsite onsen is excellent. They do an amazing breakfast buffet here - including gelato! (Don't judge me) Sagawa onsite to arrange luggage transfer was very handy. Short walk to station, Yodobashi, Kyoto Tower etc. Check In process is automated but takes forever. Haven't found this to be the case at other APA. Took us an hour to get through the queue and we had somewhere to get to so we were very rushed.

The location was great for walking to other services. The rooms here were larger than the APA hotel I was staying in Tokyo.
