New, Clean and friendly staff. The building and room are not soundproofed.

Great property! But I am especially grateful to the women on duty 9 May am - I lost their names?- for spending time and empathy trying to find medical help after a fall on an outing! The hotel is near transit, restaurants and shopping!

Super clean rooms , great walking distance to all major attractions!

The location is good. The train station is 15 to 20 minutes walk, and around 8 minutes with transportantion and about the same for Shijo Kawaramachi. The window wasn't soundproof and I could feel a little bit wind coming through even when it's closed.

Everything from the staff greeting when you walk in to the overall ease of comfort (not to mention you could walk in every direction and find something new to get into). This was hands down my favourite hotel and will most DEFINITELY book here again. The staff even leave out free water to refill pitchers, a local tea to refresh with, along with some senbei and snacks if you want to just relax in the lobby before heading out. Highly recommend! There wasn't really anything to dislike, just be mindful the walls are thin so you can hear everything outside your doors to even water running through pipes (although it sounds almost like rainfall so it was so soothing).

The location is probably the best part! It's only one stop away from Kyoto station and 6m on foot from Gojo station to the hotel. The staff is nice, and the room is clean. It's quite small (especially considering the price) but that's unfortunately true for most of the hotels in Japan... As mentioned, I wish the room was a bit bigger, since the fare per night is not cheap. But I was most disappointed by the breakfast: usually when breakfast is included, it means a decent meal inside the hotel, but in this case it meant receiving a 500-600 yen ticket for the Komeda Coffee attached to the hotel. And the Komeda breakfast is mediocre at best. If I knew, I would have chosen the option without breakfast.

The room is extremely small. My room faced an alleyway with no sunlight. The hotel has a very limited area in the reception. I needed a space to work, but that was not possible. I went down to the reception area and used a table to work there for an hour. The next day, the hotel staff removed that table. There is simply no space offered by the hotel if you need to work on your laptop. The breakfast includes only one slice of toast, one boiled egg and coffee. It was tasty but very small. I would not go back to this hotel.

Cute - just what you need. Great location. Rooms small, beds stiff - common in all of Japan though!
