Breakfast was great! Laundry service available on site. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is close to multiple convenience stores. Hostel is mostly quiet. Location is close to several shrines and close to a metro station. Good value for money. There could be an additional wash sink on the top floor as there’s only 1 on top.

The breakfast was amazing with delicious food and many options. The space is large and has multiple bathrooms and showers (which I wasn’t fully expecting). The hosts were kind and welcoming as well. The walls are extremely thin, so we could hear practically everything happening outside the room (including people using the bathroom right next to our room and a hairdryer at 5am!). I highly recommend earplugs for sleeping.

This is our 2nd stay. We stayed here again bcs it felt genuine japanese accom; the bfast was superb; walkable to heian shrine; 70m away from the nearest bus st; staff are all nice; and jiro is sooooo cute! Will stay here again and again. ? None! The accom was old but still it adds up to the experience.

Location is in walking distance to major temples on east Kyoto. Very comfortable bed. The breakfast is exceptional. This is the best breakfast I have in hostels since travelled in the world. Staffs are very welcoming and provide helpful local information. Will come back if travel to Kyoto again. None

I would absolutely take advantage of it, and it's a significant part of what made the stay so great for me. 2nd floor was creaky in some parts, so you have to be careful when walking to stay silent. Bed had bedrails (as seen in pictures) which made it slightly inconvenient to get into and out of.

Very gooooooodd and delicious breakfast!!!! Location is very accesible to the train station and Lawson is just across the street!!!!The guesthouse was very homey and warm and cozy despite the cold weather!!!!All I can say is that the service and the location is worth the money!!!!Thank you so much for accomodating a fist time traveller in Japan! Nothing!!! Everything was Exceptional!

Great location AMAZING breakfast really nice and helpful staff would stay again ambiance was a little meh when I was there but that’s not the hostel’s fault just not very social guests

The staff was amazing and made the place feel like home. Starting at check in you’re greeted by the lovely pup Jiro. Then throughout my stay, everyone was so helpful and friendly. As a solo traveler, I was sad to leave a place that made me feel like family. It feels like you’re staying in an authentic traditional Japanese home turned hostel. There was no air conditioning in the communal space upstairs but bedrooms and main area downstairs were great. I had a top bunk and was the last to arrive in my dorm, so there was not much room to have any luggage in the bedroom with me. I kept my stuff in the locker in the communal area. It was fine for me to have luggage and another room, but not my favorite.

Warm, peaceful, and perfectly located, I felt at home. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the Heian Shrine and with easy access to public transportation. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and to my surprise, they were huge fans of Brazil, which made me feel even more welcomed. Breakfast was a lovely touch: simple, fresh, and clearly prepared with care. The room and common areas were always clean, and the little garden added a peaceful charm to the stay. The cost-benefit is amazing, especially in Kyoto. The only downside was that my room faced a busy street, so I could hear traffic noise during the night. Still, I was always so tired from exploring that I managed to sleep well anyway. I’d definitely stay here again!

1) Breakfast was excellent which was prepared by the owner itself. Their miso soup was the highlight dish. The owner was so kind that he offered us breakfast on the day of our check-in as we arrived there early morning. 2) The guest house was very close to all major tourist spots, metro station and convenient stores. 3) The place had a very positive and homely vibe because their employee- Jiro, who was the sweetest dog we met. Since it is an old wooden house, the ventilation and electric sockets were not proper.

Good location and friendly staff. It offers a great selection of food for breakfast. The edge of the bed frame is a few inches taller than the mattress which makes it hard to get out of the bed.

Staff are amazing: friendly, kind and always willing to help. Breakfast was good, the miso soup is still delicious and so wonderful to have fresh fruit and a good cup of strong freshly ground coffee!! The set up of the living area encourages people to talk and I always meet interesting and lovely people.

Great location and very clean. The breakfast was delicious. And the staff were just fantastic. They’re all very friendly and helpful. The best part of my stay was waking up to a delicious breakfast and the smiley faces from the staff.

What a great stay I had here! The staff were so kind, and the breakfast in the morning was wonderful too. A really lovely property, I wish I had stayed longer.
