Hotel Arashiyama

This place was a bit above my cheap price range (this comment only reflects my own cheapness) and it blew every expectation out of the water. The location was great as a base for an early morning trip to Arashiyama bamboo forest and beating the crowds. The view from the room itself is absolutely stunning. The room was very spacious and very comfortably furnished and I slept wonderfully. Honestly, it was so comfortable that I went back to bed after my early Arashiyama jaunt and waited for the temples in the area to open… probably because I didn’t want to leave, too. It exceeds expectations. Location. View from the room. Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Comfort of the beds and the room itself.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful. They were willing to make telephone calls for us, recommend restaurtants, etc. in a genuinely pleasant manner. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Arashiyama. not applicable.

Great location, very kind staff and accommodating. My husband and I have 4 kids and we had to book 2 rooms. The hotel staff were incredibly kind and considerate and put bed rails up on the sides for our little ones. The only slightly negative thing would be that the rooms were on the smaller side and that my husband says the bed he slept on was too hard for him… but I honestly had the best night sleep. Maybe the beds were different. :) all in all we really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely location, very near Togetsukyo Bridge. You can also get a 200 yen dicount coupon for the onsen nearby. Good to make it as a base to walk to some of the attractions within Arashiyama such as the bamboo forest, the monkey park, Adashino Nenbutsuji and Gioji Nothing

Scenic and convenient location close to the river and restaurants (and Kimono Forest!)

The location of the property was great, and the property was clean The mattress sagged in the middle really bad one of the worst nights sleeps. I’ve had in Japan over the three week stay the young fella at the desk really needs to find a job that is happy with cause he was the most rudest person I had met in Japan and I must say I didn’t really meet any negative people over there or rude. on the toilet, what’s the tiniest space I’ve ever seen in it looks big in the picture but it’s not an airplane toilet has more room. There is no way possible to put a blunt. Wipe your butt without standing up.

Great location with a great view. The sound of the river next the hotel was a plus. Price was very fair. No complaints.

Location and quiet , looks out onto the river

This place is the best. Great view of the mountains and river in a spectalular location. Staff was very friendly. I have zero complaints. The only thing I didn't like is that I couldn't stay another day

Spacious and clean space in a great location! We walked everywhere easily from the hotel and it was a comfortable and pleasant space to return to after the days of walking. Staff was so very friendly and polite from the moment we arrived until the moment we departed! Nothing

the location was beautiful would definitely come back again that my trip was too short wish i could of stayed longer.

A bit pricey

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent 2-night stay at Hotel Arashiyama. The location, accommodations, food (delicious traditional Japanese breakfast and coffee) and staff either met or exceeded our expectations. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Great service from the hotel staff! Nothing to complain about! Although we had a long and rough road with our luggages in tow, we have a well deserved rest! Nothing to dislike about the property

Beautiful place, nice staff, clean and spacious. Good traditional Japanese breakfast ? E You should mind that everything around is closed at night- restaurants or bars.

This hotel is in a picturesque location with a river view. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The hotel is located next to many attractions. I can't wait to stay here again!
