It was nothing we didn’t like!

Great breakfast: many western high quality options (fruits, yogurt , French toast , scrambled eggs) Great lunge .. refreshing beverages and small snacks. Good location. The staff was very helpful and nice. Especially on check out day - helped us so much to order the Taxi, and the tall nice guy - helps us to make it with 3 big suitcases into the Taxi itself … and reminded us to ask the Driver the exact location of drop off in Kyoto Station. This was amazing service, done so kindly. Thank you ? ✈️

This hotel was an absolute gem—truly felt like a luxury experience without the luxury price tag. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The price tag was a bargain! The location couldn’t have been better. It was either a short walk to many popular spots or conveniently close to public transportation, making it easy to explore the area without any hassle. One of the standout highlights was the food. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options, and the snacks and happy hour offerings were such a nice bonus. What really impressed us was how well they accommodated dietary restrictions—there were plenty of thoughtful choices, and everything was clearly prepared with care. The hotel itself was beautiful, with well-designed spaces that felt modern, clean, and inviting. It had all the touches you’d expect from a high-end property, yet it remained approachable and comfortable. Overall, this was an incredible value. If you’re looking for a place that delivers luxury-level comfort, great food, and a prime location without breaking the bank, this hotel is a fantastic choice. N/A

I liked the fact that you had the lobby area open to the guest to get relaxed time with free treats. I did not have any dislike as my stay was very short

We really enjoyed the Onsen and amenities. The Happy Hour and Ochazuke were completely unexpected and wonderful! Ordering a taxi was made very easy! We were treated very well at all times. Great experience at every level. Could not find anything that we didn't like!

Close to Nikishi market No view whatsoever. Frosted glass windows that don’t open. The bathroom is worse than that of a motor home; a tiny cubicle, poorly built, cheap everything, including the bathtub curtain which is not changed in between guests. Limited breakfast offerings and cold food. Mini appetizer plates or a small plastic cafeteria tray. No proper, full size plates. “Over 50 items” only if they’re counting each piece of bread. The lounge is not worth it. Again, pretty much just crackers, marmalade, water and coffee. They did have a chocolate fountain with no fruit, just a handful of stale biscuits. Wr decided to stay in Kyoto 2 more days and went elsewhere. Do not stay here!

The location was conveniently located a few bus stops from Gion off a major avenue on a quiet street. The spacious lodge opens most hours of the day and offers different kinds of water, tea, coffee, snacks, wine etc on different hours. The breakfast was excellent - local and international cuisines with fresh ingredients and lots of vegetables, which can be hard to come by in Japan. The spa was nice too and it opens until 1am. Even the toiletries were of good quality and variety. The staff was courteous and very good in sharing their knowledge about the area. Mr. Chen at the front desk was especially helpful in recommending many good restaurants and answering our many questions. In short, to us, it is a hotel with an old-fashioned custom-oriented vibe and we felt well-taken care of. Couldn’t recommend enough! The room was not large, but it has most of the things we needed.

The location is really great, in a very nice area to walk at night and enjoy many local restaurants. The little snacks that they were offering throughout the day were really appreciated. The thing that I appreciated the least were the blurred windows which were not giving any visibility on the outside and that we could not open to change the air in the room. This was also not allowing us to understand how is the weather outside.

Room was terribly designed and could barely move, staff were cold and not as welcoming as other ones we experienced in Japan. I don’t think they changed the sheets even once during our 6 nights of stay there! They were quite smelly despite the request to clean the room!

It’s convenient to where I’m going, everything is walkable from convenience store, subway, Nishiki Market and the Gion district. Laundry was terrible

Very professional staff willing to assist you. Really enjoyed the communal “happy hour”! It was a good way to relax after a day of exploring and visiting Kyoto. Nothing to complain about : )

Nice, quite hotel The windows where locked Once I asked the stuff to open it was better

The onsen and vibrating chairs were very relaxful and the staff was very accomodating. The hotel's location is central to Kyoto. Coffee available at 6am in the lobby. breakfast, but I don't care to pay a lot of money for a Japanese breakfast. There are lots of breakfast options but I preferred to go down the street and eat in local diner.
