The location, staff and having laundry were appreciated.

The location is very convenient for Kyoto, which was the best part of our stay. However, we were disappointed that the rooms were not cleaned every day. The hotel explains this as an eco-friendly policy, but we believe there could be better ways to support sustainability without compromising guest comfort. Although fresh towels were provided daily, not having the room cleaned made the stay feel less comfortable. The staff could also have been more helpful. The rooms are small, but the location is good overall.

Clean, comfortable beds No soft lights. They were either strong over head lights or no lights at all in the room. thermometer was hard to navigate, it’s all in Japanese, I had to guess. No eating in room? It’s a hotel. No they can’t help you hail a cab or forward your luggage. Maybe that’s because it’s a hostel? Don’t know, never stayed in one before this.

We were celebrating a special occasion and the hotel had the most thoughtful gifts for us upon arrival, the ambiance of the room made it very romantic, one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in a while. The laundry machines could be upgraded to more powerful ones, at least the dryer.

I have stayed here before. Great location and great hotel. When you leave luggage before check in it isnt stored in a concealed area. Staff a little bureaucratic.

Excellent location great amenities and very kind and helpful staff

Very central in a wonderful neighbourhood of Kyoto, with many restaurants around and only a short walk to all stations and central locations. Staff was very friendly, and everything needed was provided in the rooms. Rooms were slightly dusty, and ventilation is probably not the best in the rooms, but nothing too bad.

The rooms were super comfortable and had a definite Japanese flair. It was also in a great spot close to the subway and I also walked everywhere.

Beautiful modern Japanese style rooms, with lots of good amenities available - a really nice surprise was a matcha making kit in the hotel room! The hotel held free events through the duration of our stay which was a lovely surprise - the events include meeting a Maiko, daruma and windchime painting etc. The staff were always very friendly and attentive. The hotel is located very close to a train station and is in walking distance of many of the locations we wanted to visit. The rooms were a good size but with we struggled to find a good spot for our two medium suitcases

It’s a beautiful peaceful hotel. Great location, very clean, and GREAT staff. This will be our choice for future Kyoto trips. No English TV stations
