Hotel Sasarindou

Unfortunately bed wasn’t so comfortable, but I stayed for 1 night so it was ok

The location was excellent. A taxi can’t drop you off in Front, but they could direct you how to get to it. It’s about a block in small streets. It was close to the bus, subway, and Gion District. I saw many geishas on my walk home to the hotel. It did not appear to be clean. The hallway carpets on the first floor and on the fourth floor (where I was staying) were very dirty. The rug and the rooms were dark, so it was hard to tell if it was clean or dirty. You were advised to wear slippers once entering the room. But the slippers seemed a little old. The bathroom area was very clean.

Location was perfect to nearby restaurants, cultural sites, and easy to get taxis. Not applicable.

The location was perfect, close to transit and very close to many great tourist locations. It was very comfortable and spacious at a really good price. Free breakfast was amazing.

Very unique and quirky, felt like you were traveling back in time to another era.lives the traditional Japanese breakfast. Rooms were clean and very large. It was great!

Location in Gion was amazing Very unsafe for kids and adults with dangerous stone platforms jutting out on floor and near sofa. My son hit his head while just sitting on the sofa not realizing the white marble platform was protruding over the sofa back. Lot of random steps in the room also. Breakfast was entirely Japanese with no options for vegetarians other than juice and rice.

Rooms were large for Japan. Comfortable beds, simple Japanese breakfast, and great location in a quiet Gion neighborhood. Thoughtful self service amenities. Towels are a bit old and thin but we didn’t mind. The most direct way to get to the hotel was taking bus 206 directly from Kyoto station (assuming you don’t have large bags.) We walked to 2 different subways stations, Pontocho Alley and many restaurants and shops. Lovely stay. We would stay here again.

Great location, nice staff and good breakfast. The bedding was comfortable, the room and bathroom were spacious! Lots of toiletries available. There was a strong humidity smell in the room (+ I would recommend adding a second pillow to each bed)

Coat hanger. Not functional. A two sided closet with a bar to hang clothes on works best. The top could be used as a shelf.

Excellent location. Enjoyed the traditional Japanese breakfast. Very clean and room was spacious. Room was a little cold at night.

Great Kyoto location near restaurants, sights and transportation

The hotel has an excellent location, making it very convenient to explore the area. The staff at the reception were extremely kind and friendly, always ready to help with a smile. We enjoyed the traditional Japanese breakfast, We would definitely return on our next visit. Highly recommended!

The location was absolutely amazing, and the value for the money was outstanding. The staff was helpful and spoke good English. I'd really like to emphasize how fantastic of a location it was. Walking distance from everything around Gion, the station, and bus stops. It's not the fanciest place, but it was clean, convenient, quiet, and comfortable. The room and building was a little dated, but thats all. Not a big deal, and for the money it was a great stay.

Located in a great area. All the temples are within walking distance. The room was spacious and comfortable. Hotel was located in the historic GION district. Really beautiful.

I loved the simple Japanese breakfast (included). A great way to start the day.

Loved this hotel in Kyoto- clean comfortable rooms- nice breakfast and close to everything. Nothing!
