I was surprised by the hospitality of the staff. None so far

Travel in Japan with my Daughter for two weeks for her HS graduation gift. This place was excellent. We booked the twin futon room with shared bathroom. The futon was very comfortable and the AC could literally freeze you out of the room. We had shared the bathroom with males and females sharing the same toilet and showers which I don’t care to, but other than that it was fantastic. You are a five minute walk from the main kyoto station and tons of restaurants. You can use the washer for 300 yen and dryer for 100 yen. ($.5 & $.2) virtually free. Also there is a kitchen and staff is wonderful and usually speak English. Shred female & male bathroom and shower.

the room was spacious and clean, community space was nice, staff were very friendly, location was amazing--super close to kyoto station.

I stayed in the dorms for 1 night and you have to pay for a towel. That was pretty sad especially if you are used to bathing in the night. They leave around 9pm so there’s no one to give you a towel.

Awesome and lovely staff, hostel has a nice vibe and is very clean.

We stayed in a Japanese style double room which was really cool. My friend said he found the bed on the floor a little uncomfortable although I slept great. If you go with this option, you do need to stow tour bed and bedding in order to move about the room comfortably. Part of the experience :)

Good locationn The washing machine is SUPER DIRTY. My white clothing have been stained. The bidet has no washing function. We must make our own bed.

Staff here is great and welcoming. Kicthen facilities is well equipped. Private rooms are large. Near temples and generally centrally located if you enjoy walking. Wifi in suite301 is non existent. Hostel is about a 10-15 min walk from Kyoto station (could be a problem if you have mobility issues).

Awesome location. Walk to great restaurants. Definitely try the fried Wagyu around the corner. The staff was very attentive, present, and engaging. Use Ben off guruwalk app for a free tour who is excellent! He came back to hostel, drank, and ate dinner with the residents. I even found the people staying at this house more friendly than any other Hostel in Japan so far. See picture of the Hostel sharing four bottles of plumbline below. You also also had a very authentic Japanese feel. Not corporate owned like, but more traditional Japanese. I got nothing to say negative.

The hostel was right next to the train station which was super convenient. It was also very clean and comfortable. I also really appreciated the washer and dryer; they were very easy to use.

Very friendly host. The room and shared areas are all very clean and neat. Very convenient location within 1 min walking distance to several restaurants and convenient store. The room was a bit small, not much space to place the luggage. The bathroom was pretty cold as it doesn't have a space heater.
