Excellent location, very clean, bed was very comfortable, I asked in advance for extra futons and the staff had it there already organized when I arrived. Staff were excellent, friendly, helpful, respectful, explained everything in excellent English. The rules were clear and well signposted. It was a very authentic Japanese experience which is what I wanted. It was very high value for money and I would not hesitate to recommend then to anyone.

Exceptional service by the hosts

Peaceful location. Slept with window open and heard no street noise. Very specious doubke room.

Property was clean, and the rooms contained all the amenities I needed. Good location within walking distance of the Kyoto station, and it was quiet as well.
-
Location, very near the Kyoto train station. I was told each day, by the desk clerk, that my room would NOT be cleaned. Even though there is a written statement in their policy notebook stating that rooms WILL be cleaned daily.

The property is very well located, just a few minutes' walk from Kyoto Station and other public transportations. The host is there all the time if one needs any help. For the rooms that don't include a private bathroom, the shared facilities are well managed and convinient to use. I couldn't think of any.

This was my favorite of the 4 hotels I stayed in during my trip to Japan. The staff was extremely kind and gave me a thorough tour of all my room offered. There was hot tea waiting for me and a yukata robe to sleep in that was super comfortable. Location was also wonderful! My only dislike was the hours that you could leave and come back. You had to notify staff if you wanted to leave before 6:30am and you had to be back by 11pm, which felt a little confining.

Being a stones toss away from Kyoto Station was a great for moving around. There is also plenty of dining options nearby that did not disappoint.

The location is wonderful, right across from a Higashi Honganji Temple and very close to Shouseien Garden. The ryokan is really lovely and very comfortable. The manager/owner is extremely helpful and gracious. I couldn't stay longer!

It was a little cold in the hallways, the room was perfectly fine and had proper heating! Since you take your shoes off at the entrance floor it was a little cool on the way back to my room. Not a true issue for me.
