The front desk staff was extremely helpful, our best in our 2 week visit. Very helpful for local restaurants and making reservations where needed..A special thanks to Rena (?spelling) Initially finding the hotel was a bit difficult but once we found it it was in a great location for restaurants and walking around in the evening.

The location is excellent, the room is spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the area is very quiet. It’s unfortunate that there’s no breakfast option available, as it’s not easy to find something nearby. However, the convenient store is just a few steps away, so it’s not a deal-breaker.

Perfect location to stay in Kyoto. The staff are the hotel are friendly and helpful - they shipped an item we forgot to our next hotel for us. There’s a coin operated washing machine / dryer available for guests. Our room was huge. Despite being close to a busy road we never found the street to be noisy. Nothing!

Loved the location. Spent countless hours reviewing hotels in Kyoto. Was wanting something that slept 2 adults and a teenage comfortably in a walkable area. It’s has a separate bedroom with 2 full beds and 1/2 bath. It also has mats to sleep in dining area for a more authentic experience. It also had a nice bath with double sinks and a large tub with a window. Also a large balcony overlooking the river. Every restaurant we tried within a 5 minute walk was amazing. The only 2 negatives were housekeeping wasn’t automatic. You had to ask for service. The other was the balcony was extremely warm when the ACs are running.

Great location easy to walk to local attractions, restaurants and of course 7 Eleven Transport easily accessible to anywhere via train or bus The rooms are spacious and comfortable which can be rare in Japan Nothing it was excellent

The Royal Suite was exquisite. The breakfast danish and in room Nespresso machine were especially nice to have. perfect size for our family of 4

The staff was wonderful and helped us to secure a tee time at a local golf course and taxi. Our room was spacious and perfect for our needs. The hotel provides all the toiletries needed. Beds were comfortable. Location is great, on a quiet street within walking distance of the Gion district and downtown with a 7-11 just steps away.

Clean and central location

The room was so spacious. The location was perfect. The front desk was so helpful especially when I mistakenly booked a prepaid reservation in a town 2 hours away. They helped cancel the reservation and get me a refund.

Amazing location in Gion so you can walk out the door and be in the beauty of Gion. But quiet enough and away from tourists and right by a train station or a quick walk to many places. Housekeeping is only every few days but they will come empty trash and give towels.

My only downside was more booking.com's fault I think. I added an extra night via the site. The hotel approved and when booking.com tried to charge my virtual card and it didnt go through they canceled my whole booking instead of just the one night even though I had already been charged for the original nights. The hotel worked with me to fix it at the end. Booking told me to call them they told me to call booking (the usual third party dilemna). I did end up calling the hotel once and had to pay a hefty international call fee. I wasnt able to communicate well with my very broken Japanese on the phone (though when we arrived at the hotel all employees were bilingual). 100% dont expect anyone to speak my language when I'm traveling to their country though. At the end the hotel agreed to refund if I rebooked the full 4 nights but by the time we got to this resolution the room I picked was unavailable and I had to book the next tier up so it hurt my budget, but the room ended up being fantastic. I guess the one draw back is not having a 24 hour front desk.

Absolutely amazing hotel! The hotel location location was perfect and we were able to walk to so many different places. It was also close to one of the subway stations. The room was bigger than we expected, and made our five day stay incredibly comfortable. The room had two full-size beds, a huge sitting area, a fridge and coffee bar, and huge walk-in shower. The hotel had a washer and dryer on site, a microwave on site, and there is a 7-11 right across the street for anything you might need. The staff were great, the room was beyond expectations, and the view we had from our balcony was perfect. This was our first time visiting Kyoto, and this hotel helped make it one of the best trips we have ever had. We did not know that in Japan most hotels will only allow two guests per room. It doesn’t matter what size beds are, it’s part of their rules. We had our daughter with us, and we had to pay an additional charge for her, but they allowed her to stay in the same room with us. Other hotels wouldn’t even allow her to stay with us. They made accommodations for us, and just had us pay extra instead of turning us away like we had experienced with other hotels in the area.

Location 10am checkout and no late check out option despite having only 3pm checkin

The rooms were clean, spacious, and the terrace/balcony was great, even though it was too cold and we only got to enjoy sitting outside once. There was a smoking room near our room so it did smell/feel a bit stuffy when we were in the hallway. However, this was not noticeable when we were in our room.

It was very clean and well stocked with everything you need and more. The bed was comfortable, and the Japanese touches made it feel like I was in Japan. The location was perfect and close to public transit. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend it. No complaints about anything.
