The location is very convenient, there is easy access to all kinds of public transportation. The hotel offers baggage reception and storage, which is really helpful.

Staff was kind and it was close to few restaurants and station around 20 minutes. The property was extremely dirty and not worth the price. We caught conjunctivitis while staying there, and I honestly don’t think the bedding is cleaned as often as it should be. The bathrobes had hair on them, there was hair in the bathroom, coffee stains everywhere, and the bath curtain was orange in some areas, which looked like mold.

The hotel was close to the station, and there were a few nearby stores where you could quickly buy something to start the day well. There were several things I did not enjoy during my stay. The hotel was not very clean, and communication with the staff was difficult because most of them did not speak English. Even the employees who could speak some English were unable to help with basic information about the city, transportation, or local attractions. The laundry room was also extremely small, making it almost impossible to use unless you stayed at the hotel during the day instead of sightseeing. Another thing to be careful about is that there are three hotels from the same chain very close to each other, so you need to pay close attention to the map to avoid going to the wrong one.

I liked that this place offered amenities such as instant coffee, we drank one every morning. They also had a fridge in the room. There was a microwave and laundry (coin operated) on the first floor. The shower pressure was great. It was a very convenient location and it was close to the train station. We used the Randen train station to go to the Arashiyama bamboo forest. It was semi close to Nishiki market and we walked there and back (about 20 minute ish or so). I noticed many times there wasn’t anyone at the front desk, but we never needed them….

The staff are friendly and helpful. This hotel is in a good location and offers plenty of amenities. The subway station and bus station are very close to the hotel (just about 100 meters away). The suburb is very quiet and peaceful. We love walking so we took a walking tour to Nijo Castle which took roughly 30 minutes. There are convenient stores and supermarkets nearby within a short walking distance. We stayed here for 2 nights and we had best meals at different restaurants across the road both nights. Not the thing I don't like but it helps to know for 1st time visitors that there are several Smart Place Inn Kyoto in the same suburbs. We went to one and then were told we needed to go to another one just down the road. Please check the name of the station at the end of the hotel name.

Wish there were more security measures; smoking room was in laundry room, leading to excessive Smokey scent. Never provided new towels, new trash bag, etc

Great location! Lots of coffee shops, convenience stores and subway stations in walking distance. It was also great that they had a self-serve laundry room in the building. No communal space. The rooms were too small to socialize and there was nowhere to meet up with your travel companions to relax, wait for each other or plan out the day.

The location it’s very convenience and even when the room is quite small it feels confortable The pillows are not so good, and only have one per person doesn’t give you the opportunity to choose and option

Very nice staff and good access to the transit

Very good location and the room was clean and comfortable. The smoking area is really close to the laundry room, and all the clean clothes end up taking the smell of cigarette. Sometimes even on the reception and on the elevator, the smell of cigarette was present and it was very unpleasant.

Location and size of the room

I liked the location best! It was close enough to walk to certain locations such as Harbs, the Pokémon Center, Nijo Castle, etc., but far enough where you wouldn’t deal with much noise. It was also nearby Omiya station and even more amazingly, Randen station, which takes you directly to Arashiyama without transfers. In my experience, it was easy to get a seat at Randen station, as most people got on at the next station when heading to Arashiyama. It was also close to a Daiso and quite a few convenience stores so if you ever needed to purchase anything, things were nearby! It was a bit cold while there so I always had to turn on the heater for quite a bit of time before the room warmed up. Also, the water wouldn’t smoothly go down the drain in the bath.

Small room, but with everything we needed. All clean, modern and well designed. Great local neighborhood with many great restaurants. Loved this stay.

Centrally located. Had laundry facilities. Small but comfortable room. I wish there were extra pillows. The pillows were small and made sitting up in bed uncomfortable. I probably could have asked for an extra though. The staff was accommodating.
