    Location Everything

The public lobby toilet worked better and was more comfortable than our room bathroom. Upon entering there is a lip to walk over, plus a foot step to get into the bathroom, bidet in bathroom didn't work, no way to control temperature of shower or sink as they were connected. Shower head was so low that even my 5'2 wife couldn't fit under. Bed was on a wooden pallet that was sticking out, that we kept hitting because there was nothing covering the wooden corners. A "queen" mattress but really just two twins pushed together. A false view of the outside of the hotel. "Frosted windows that opened to just two walls" ice machine only accessible in the basement, the coffee machine also in basement was directly under a dust trap/air filter system so dust was literally everywhere. Microwave was also in basement which they closed at midnight so no late night eats if needing microwave. Smoking room was big enough for maybe two people comfortably also had to duck walking in due to massive drop in ceiling. Hotel staff was not very friendly, given as we checked out they didn't even say " thanks for staying, we hope to see you etc" had a complimentary breakfast, but you had to reserve your time slot and all they served was, bread, fruit, egg, and yogurt. The accommodation tax was the most expensive out of all the hotels we stayed at throughout Japan. (400 yen per person per night) Also in the room there was no designated table to set items down on, the only "chair" option was a ottoman that was uncomfortable and low to the ground and had no support. Remote had no English option so had to Google what the buttons meant but couldn't even see the TV due to it being so far from the low sitting bed. Curtain in room over bed so was hitting our face, plus light switch behind pillows so every time we moved in bed, the lights would turn on and off especially while sleeping.

Staff, location Room is too small

  • Engine customer Dec 2025

Booked a standard room assigned for a family of 3. Room was very small, no space to have a luggage opened properly.

Location was phenomenal--half block off the busiest street in Kyoto made it quiet but 18 bus routes were right around the corner and major subway and train lines within a few blocks made it super convenient. And the big international stores as well as Nishiki Market were an easy walk. Staff was helpful. Breakfast of soup, salad, fruit, pastries right out of the oven and coffee/tea was perfect for getting us started. Bathroom was tiny. Room was almost filled by the bed, which was very low to the floor. No chair or desk. Step up from door to room and another step up to bathroom.

shower pressure was good This place is terrible. We booked a triple room advertised with a view, there was no view, just a dungeon with frosted glass windows. We spoke with the lady at the front desk who was really nice and tried to help us out, but the manager is super stingy. I think the building used to be a cheap apartment block for poverty stricken old pensioners but it’s been converted into a hotel. It’s really depressing. We are a family of five and our booking only came with 2 breakfasts. The breakfast is awful as well. Who eats a poor salad for breakfast if there’s no protein or toast to go with it? Anyway.. never again.

The location was great. Less than 10min walk to nishiki market and train station. The beds weren't as comfortable, there was some kind of bar you could feel in the middle of the mattress.

The staff were kind and very helpful. They helped us forward our luggage to Tokyo. The basement had a comfortable lounge and area to use the washer and dryer. The hotel is a short walk to the Shijo subway station. There was shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and towels included. Three of our five-person group shared one room. The rooms are too small for 3 adults, the beds and TV stand/other furniture plus your luggage. The shower, toilet and sink are cramped in a tiny bathroom. The boards of the wooden bed frame can be felt under your back when you sleep. It was not very comfortable. I would not recommend more than two people in one room. There is no room to walk through if even one suitcase is open. We stayed 4 nights. This was the smallest hotel/hostel room we stayed at on our trip to 3 cities.

There didn't seem to be any early check-in possibility but you can leave your luggage and come back. So plan your arrival accordingly.

The room was tiny and too small for 3 beds

Room is big and clean. 3 people with big 3 luggages can stay without any problem. Staffs are friendly and good English speaking. Nothing in Particular.

The EN Hotel staff spoke English and was able to help me plan my tour of the area using public transit. EN also gave me an even drink voucher and an included breakfast came with my booking. The hotel is located very close to hub of bus routes. There are many restaurants and bars in the area. I found the beds very uncomfortable for me.

    Near to every thing Nothing

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

Very small room for 3 persons. No place to turn around. Poor english language. Staff came after 5 min. to remind us about check- out time.

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

Nice stay. The hotel is good but the rooms are tinny. If you travel with suitcases the space is not enough.

  • Engine customer Jun 2025

One of the best hotels I’ve been in Japan, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the location is great, the hotel has everything kind of facilities, the rooms are equipped with everything you can need and the beds are super comfortable. I will repeat.
