Excellent location

Location, location, location! Very convenient to go to popular sightseeing places in Kyoto. The room was small for 4 of us (connecting 2 small rooms), but we managed fine.

The location is ideal, right along a busy commercial street, and not far from major train stations. Bathroom etc. was satisfactory, and getting in and out (as well as holding bags) was very easy. The room was a bit small but this is true of all hotels in this price range.

Best location, friendly staff and amazing service.

The breakfast hall is heavily filled with the smell of fried food. The breakfast options include tempura and some other fried dishes. The moment you enter the hall, you are completely immersed in the smell, and if you are sensitive to odors clinging to you, you need to take a shower. You also have to wash your clothes. I reported this issue to the reception and stated that I did not want breakfast for the following days. They mentioned they were aware of the smell but could not offer a refund for the remaining days' breakfast.

The proximity to the Nishiki market is the best. We were able to walk almost everywhere. The only negative I have is maybe since we were I. The third floor we could hear the loud motorcycle exhaust and any sirens very loud and clearly through the overnight.

Centrally located. Good spot for transportation options I was in a room in the front of the hotel and it could get noisy from the street

Best location in Kyoto. Few blocks away from train and bus stations to Kyoto Station and JR to Osaka, etc. we took taxi/uber several times and it stops right in front of the hotel. It’s next to Don Quixote and Family Mart , and a pharmacy. The breakfast was really good. I read about limited breakfast but probably improved tremendously. Staff were very helpful. There’s a coffee/ hot chocolate machine in the reception and amenities/ accessories you need like individual sachet of lotion, face wash, toothbrush.

The location is 10/10. Easy access to everything. Super convenient location steps away from major bus stations and good food and shopping. Very clean room. Breakfast options was limited. No egg station and everything very small portion and you need to ask staff to refill the dishes as they may not enough staff! Very limited western options available but existing ones delicious

Modern, western-stye hotel but with Japanese amenities, cleanliness and hospitality. Staff is efficient and respectful. Room was good but bed against the wall is not super convenient for two sleepers. Breakfast buffet was quite good, not deluxe.

I recently stayed at Hotel Musse Kyoto and overall had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the location is excellent. The hotel is within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, and several temples, which made exploring Kyoto very convenient. The amenities were good, and the mattress was comfortable, providing a good night’s sleep after long days of sightseeing. There are a few areas that could use improvement. The breakfast was disappointing—items like scrambled eggs and fruits need significant improvement, and I would not recommend including breakfast with your stay. The staff could also be more flexible and helpful. I had an important document that needed printing, and unfortunately, the request was declined without much assistance. Additionally, the pillows were not very comfortable and could benefit from a more ergonomic design. Storage is limited, as there are no shelves for clothes, so you’ll likely need to keep everything in your suitcase. Lastly, the room size is quite small, and with the bed placed against the wall, it becomes inconvenient after a couple of days. In summary, while the location and basic comfort are strong points, improvements in service, breakfast quality, and room functionality would significantly enhance the overall experience.
