Great location and very friendly staff

This was my second stay at the hotel, and I’m certain I’ll be back the next time I visit Kyoto. The staff are kind and welcoming, the hotel is comfortable, the breakfast is delicious and satisfying, and the rooms are a great size. There were two of us sharing the room, and it never felt cramped. We each had a large suitcase, and thanks to the sofa in the room, we had plenty of space, making our stay even more comfortable. Nothing

Many amenities and very nice breakfast all included- we liked the location that was close to the market and many vegetarian restaurants. Staff was wonderful and the free sake bar every afternoon was fun. Staying here as two adults and a seven year old was a great experience.

It was a wonderful stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the spa, amenities, and services. The bed was very comfortable, and the option to choose a pillow based on your preferred level of firmness made rest time better.

Location was awesome and amenities were great Nothing to complain

Staff is awesome. Onsen inside the property Nothing

Staff was very helpful. Location is very convenient for me. Commitment to sustainable practices was a pleasant surprise. Apart from minor things, it was a pleasant stay Pillow. It was like sleeping on a bag of cement. Frosted glass on an only window was a bit disappointing but nothing major.

Welcome hosting, onsen, interior design of the lobby space and dinning room. Toilet shower was broken in my room, but I forgot to tell the stuff about... I didnt like the material of the hotel pyjamas, but its only a detail.
-
Good hotel and excellent location. Every day there's a free bar where you can try different sakes and drinks. I didn't really like the breakfast. We tried it one day and then decided to eat at a 7-Eleven.
-
Windows in the dinning area and in rooms were translucent and not transparent.

Are you hoping to be in central Kyoto, near Kawaramachi station, shopping and Nishiki Market? A short walk to Gion? Are you hoping to get a small room and a free breakfast for a great value? This is your place. Also enjoy the hotels in-house onsen bath, and nightly welcome drinks with several sake options to try out, and other beverages. I am six foot three. The rooms are small...but pretty standard Japanese value hotel small. So once you realize small is typical, this is normal. I would pay an extra $5-10 a night for a super comfy bed, these are just okay. Again fairly common Japanese "firm" mattress.

Some staff doesnt know english very well. Also they only have 3 washing machines which only 2 worked during our stay and felt i had to fight with everyone else staying in the hotel to use it. The hotel has a system that displays which washing machines is being used on the room tv, but i didnt seem to work and some nights i saw people waiting till 2 am in the morning

It was very easy in and out, the location was perfect, the offerings were great. The elevators were slow with any stops for how busy the spot was

We like everything about this property. This was our second trip back after being there the week before. The location is perfect, the staff was so helpful and kind. The onsen was wonderful for my sons, they enjoyed it every night. The breakfast was very good with excellent selections of delicious food. We enjoyed the evenings tasting different Sakis. There isn’t anything I didn’t like.

The location and staff were top notch! The hotel was next to the Nishiki Market and multiple subway stations which made it very convenient. It was also next to a high end shopping district and the historic Gion district. The breakfast buffet was good but very busy in the mornings as it was included with the room and the sake happy hour in the afternoons was a nice treat. The laundry facility was nice with free detergent and baskets for use. The wash and dry cycle only took 30 minutes per load. We were extremely happy with our stay. The bed was extremely stiff! This might be a Japanese preference but we were not used to it.

The staff are strictly un-accommodating to early check-in and their reactions to not even let us use the powder room to get ready really cast a sour tone on the stay.

Location and service
-
Location, extras, staff Room a bit small

I like the options of amenities in the location. Not being treated like a valued customer. When something goes wrong, customer service was unable to handle my issue.
