Location was the only valid pro to this location as well as the front desk staff whom were very welcoming and kind The room itself was very worn down, lots of stains on the carpet, beds, in the washroom and there was a very muggy smell in the room. We were in a non-smoking room but there was still a distinct smell of perhaps smoking as we were below the smoking floor. It’s an outdated hotel that needs some major renovations as the location is perfect but the room itself, far from it.

Perfect location for my trip! I walked to the hotel from the train station. Lots of restaurants near by and shopping stores. The room was very clean. The location had access to train, bus or subway. Highly recommended! You are not allowed to check in before 3 pm. I had to wait until close to 3 pm to be able to check in even though other guests were checking in before 3 pm.

The location is probably the only thing. The big train/bus station is literally across the road and there is a Starbucks at the bottom with a food hall. The whole building smelt like a sewer. It was pretty unbeatable. Thankfully we were only there for the night otherwise I would have gone somewhere else.

Breakfast was expensive with limited options. There was little for vegetarians or vegans. The food was not great and coffee out of a machine Pillows were too soft and needed 2 for support.

Location! It being near almost everything, made travelling within Kyoto very easy. I will check when I get back home. I think, I was charged twice for the room - first with my card before arrival, second when I was asked to pay in cash at the reception desk.
