I loved the property. The staff is so kind. The rooms: both the Japanesse style and usual rooms are great. Super clean!

Great friendly service. Japanese style breakfast was unique. I'm not a fish, rice and miso for breakfast kind of guy. Slippers that fit. More international food variety for breakfast.

Excellent location and very friendly staff! The breakfast was wonderful. It would be even nicer if the hotel changed the menu more often since we had breakfast there for a few days. Overall, excellent value!! None. Everything was great!

Breakfast was ready when they said it would be. The typical Japanese breakfast to compliment the Ryokan experience. The public baths in the basement are fantastic. We stayed for 3 nights and never met anyone else in them. I read Japanese so no problem but if you do not there i no way to understand how to control the AC and heating. A guide in English should be given when you check in.

The hotel itself was fine and the staff were great. I booked the Japanese style room and had little knowledge of what to expect. The room was fine with futons that were harder than I expected (but, again, I didn’t really know what to expect). The private bathroom was small but the onsen was great. The location is right across from the train station (which I thought would be noisy with foot traffic however, the room was exceptionally quiet). I would have preferred to stay closer to Gion or just across the river west of Gion for ease of access to the nightlife.

Everyone was very good to us. They were always friendly and made us feel welcome. Whenever we did need help with something they were always responsive and accommodating. It is located right across from the train station, which helped us, as we travelled to Kyoto by Shinkansen. The breakfast was gorgeous, and also delicious. We chose to stay in a more traditional room, and it was a good way to have this kind of an experience while staying closer to the things we wanted to see, and public transportation to get us on the bus/subway/train that would take us to some of the further away sights.

Ryokan originally.

Very nice bath area close to the main station and very nice traditional japanese style room

Simple, easy and functional. A great base in Kyoto for easy access to the city and station. A wonderful way to experience traditional Japanese ryokan. Loved the Onsen on premise The facilities are a bit dated.

Onsen bath and traditional Japanese breakfast

Helpful staff, amazing vibes, private bathroom AND public bath, can sort out luggage shipping, very handy location to the train station and buses with plenty of food places around, just like photos. It was definitely a worthwhile stay to experience a traditional vibe room. Id prefer to have a privacy option as a westerner. You have to leave key with front desk whenever you go out, they have additional keys to get into the room to housekeeping and make bed regularly even though I said I didn't need cleaning which was interesting.

The hotel is like right opposite Kyoto station but it has such a nice traditional feel to it. We even had a traditional japanese breakfast that was super delicious. We had our first onsen experience. There were two onsens in the basement with actual hot springs water. For this price, I think the value is super worth it. The hotel provided yukata for all of us to wear. We were travelling with two young kids. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. There is also a nice rest area next to the lobby where we can sit and drink free flow of tea or coffee or cocoa after enjoying the onsen.

Front office staff were extremely cooperative and helped in everything. The property is good but can be given a face lift

Excellent service, and the location is perfect—right across from Kyoto Station, very convenient There is only one mirror in the room, situated in the bathroom, and its very low placement makes it inconvenient

Great location, helpful staff, cool aesthetic, the baths were wonderful!

Location Room stank like there was moisture in the floorboards. I think I got infected by spores.
