Big, gorgeous Japanese breakfast every morning. Relaxing massage spa after a day walking around. Incredible onsen with sauna and cold plunge…simply decadent! Some of the restaurants around the hotel were not open. No fault of the hotel.

I really enjoyed staying at Yuno Yado Shoei. I chose this ryokan to experience traditional Japanese hospitality at an affordable price. I especially enjoyed the dinner and breakfast. The dining experience felt very private, as the meals were served in a private room/area reserved just for our family. I also loved the public bath, especially the outdoor hot tub. It was beautiful, relaxing, and very clean. Overall, it was a very special experience for my family, especially for my children. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan during our trip to Kyoto. Of course, I knew that the room would have tatami flooring with futon bedding instead of beds. However, I was expecting a little more furniture, such as a table with more comfortable seating. There was a small table with two chairs, but it was not enough for the four of us. With no beds and very little furniture, the room felt a bit uncomfortable at times. Also, the bathroom in our room could be upgraded. The shower, toilet, and vanity all functioned well, but they were crammed into a very small space. The toilet could be separated from the rest of the bathroom, as it is in many other hotels in Japan.

Onsen nice. Room clean. Food was very good. Our server (older lady) at dinner could have been more cheerful and welcoming. However, the breakfast staff were wonderful. The futon beds were surprisingly comfortable. The room was comfortable.

Staff was very nice and lovely and will help you with your requests if you have any, facilities were very well explained in the provided book at admission (japanese and english available) and I enjoyed the Onsen a lot. The room was far taller than I expected and had a private bathroom with hottub and TV. Food was okay and not too expensive as far as I'm concerned (diners only). The place was close to Kyoto's Aquarium and its park, which made it a good location, even thoug it's a bit of walk for the Kyoto main station (30min on feets). 10/10 would come back if I go back to Kyoto someday.

I loved the breakfast that was included! Beds were also very comfortable.

Everyone was so kind, the onsen was beyond beautiful, the restaurant served delicious food and the overall experience was amazing.

Staff were very nice and helpful. The amenities are amazing and the food is delicious. I wish it were a little closer to train stations.

The room and the onsen are comfortable. The staff is really kind and helpful. My family was late for the dinner but they help to served me first and keep the food until my family arrived. They also explained throughly on how to enjoy the facilities. Overall a good experience N/A

Staff, not so friendly and poor service mind. Don't recommend this hotel.
-
The cleanliness and presentation of everything ! The food was awesome, the rooms were always kept spotless and the beds were super comfy! Nothing really - every detail was taken care of and the staff was always ready to help.

A little bit of a walk from the station but that's why it's quiet!!

It was nice to have access to a public bath, although the facility isn’t particularly clean. The person who checked us in was very nice and informative, and the front desk helped us with a couple of requests. The neighborhood was quiet and wasn’t particularly crowded. Also the breakfast was pretty decent and was really convenient. Honestly, the hotel was not very clean or well maintained at all. It was a huge difference from the photos - which is always to be expected to some degree - but it was the only hotel we stayed in (out of four) that felt dirty. The walls and floor didn’t feel clean, there was trash on the floor in the halls, the public bath had visible mold and mildew throughout, my futon felt sandy/gritty(??), and the laundry room smelled like mold. Cigarette smoke wafted into our room from somewhere else in the building and on the first night a jumping spider dropped down onto my futon (which was kind of funny at that point). Overall, I was extremely disappointed after reading such great reviews. I wasn’t expecting anything extravagant, but it was just a bit too poorly maintained and not in a good enough location to justify the prices.
