Very close to almost everything we needed and very clean. The beds were too firm for me and the room didn’t have a lot of space to move around.

Breakfast could have been more “western”. I typically dont eat fish and rice and Asian food for breakfast. The “bacon” was under cooked. It was flimsy and fatty and should have been crispy. The eggs were not good either. Breakfast. I just ate cereal every day.

Good buffet breakfast, lots of choices. Close to the river for nice walks. Close to Nishiki Market.

Unfortunately the hotel reception stuff was horrible! It was a really bad surprise to be treated the way they treated us! We were a group of 6 and we spent 2 hours arguing with the front desk because they wanted us to pay extra for 2 people, because on the reservation for double rooms there was only one name. We didn't have any problems, with the same kind of reservation before that in Tokyo and after that, in Osaka. Only in this hotel in Kyoto. We were lied that only one person speaks English when we started the argument about the reservation, but during the 2 hours ordeal, we found out that everyone at the front desk speaks English. We were treated with disrespect the whole time, and the only goal was to get more money from us! We were told that this happens a lot in this hotel which is part of "fastest growing hotel chain in Japan", and when people face this situation, they just pay! Only after more than an hour on the phone with Booking.com, the problem was resolved and we were allowed to check in! Again, we had no problems in Tokyo and Osaka with the same type of reservation. TRAVELERS, BE AWARE OF THIS HOTEL POLICY, when it comes to making reservation! They require that you put the name of every guest that is going to stay in their hotel, otherwise you will be charged extra!

Walking distance to downtown but not close. Limited number of busses and trains. Location near the river is nice and there's a supermarket across the street and a convenience store on the corner but not many restaurants nearby.

It was clean and rooms were pretty big. The location. It’s a bit of a walk from the subway stations and you have to walk a bit to the nearest convenience store.

This was my favorite hotel of all the ones I stayed in while visiting Japan! Exceptionally clean and very functional room. The location is fairly decent, but do note that it is about a 10-minute walk from the nearest metro station. During future Japan stays I will try to visit another Sotetsu Fresa Inn! I wish the hotel offered overnight bicycle parking, especially given how bike-friendly Kyoto is as a city. The nearest bicycle parking lot is about an 8-minute walk away over the river.

It was clean and had good amenities in the lobby. The room was a good size. They helped me ship my luggage to the next hotel. Breakfast was not good, the food was cold and there were few options for a Western breakfast. The location was not close to tourist attractions or the train station.

We stayed here for 4 days. I recommend everyone to stay here for kyoto trips. They even give us pajamas. Any kind of facilities are available. Breakfast is good. Staff is bery helpful. Metro station and bus stations are very close and you can even walk to the places like kawaramachi. 10/10.

They have free face masks! Otherwise a standard hotel room, check in experience was smooth. Room can be a bit small, depending on how much you are travelling with.

Nothing, really. It’s still walking distance from Gion. Not exactly central in the traditional area but it was a very nice location located near stations.

Comfortable room with all amenities. Nice staff. Good and quiet AC. 7 eleven right around the corner. Comfort room with table was big in Japan standards. Maybe location good but not perfect - quite area. Need 15 minutes walk to all the action

Great location. Amazing buffet breakfast daily. Very clean. Friendly staff. Beds were a bit hard and the original pillows were feather but I was able to borrow a Tempurpedic pillow from front desk
