The bathroom/shower/sink are shared amongst the other guests so they are not always available immediately.

If you're traveling in a large party or with loud people, maybe you should look elsewhere as the home and neighborhood are generally quiet (something I appreciated as a solo traveler).

The hosts are so lovely and accommodating. You can easily get to this place from GoJo Station or walk 15 minutes from Kyoto Station. Get the breakfast for sure. It’s over 100 years old so you may hear some outside noise. Honestly it wasn’t enough to bother me.

Gorgeous old Japanese house. Enjoyed the large bath tub. Futons were comfortable and warm. Enjoyed admiring the architectural details and sitting on the outdoor balcony attached to our room

We loved every aspect of the guesthouse. It's a charming guest house with a staff that makes you feel like you're part of their home. A traditional morning set breakfast was served every morning on your preferred time of choice. We occupied the very front rooms, both downstairs and the upstairs (there are 4 rooms in total). So our two groups had the view of the outside street. I like that laundry is also available (for 500 yen), in which they will wash, dry, fold, and deliver into your room once finished. The only problem is the sound. The walls have no noise insulation due to its authentic structure. So noise from the streets or people walking down the stairs can be heard. Fortunately, they do provide free earplugs for this reason.

Very welcoming and accommodating staff. Lovely location about 6 minutes away from the train station. Great authentic breakfast for just a small charge.

Very clean, amazing breakfast, large room. Ground floor could be a little loud sometimes with noise from the street.

Great small ryokan close to Kyoto subway and good ramen. Breakfast was different every day and very tasty! Very quiet hotel.

Excellent service! Room is quaint and had a great view. The outdoor bath is amazing. Hotel staff was able to help us out with luggage forwarding and finding an open restaurant during new years when everything was closed and even drove us there.

I really liked the atmosphere and design of the whole house. In addition, its location is good, you can easily reach the attractions of Kyoto. The breakfast was also excellent. I felt very good, thanks to Miyabi, who is very kind and helpful. Excellent hospitality.

The breakfast is great. The staff is nice. The room is cute. Everything here in Kyoto is great ? It was hard for me to understand that I can't fill in the water for Onsen when taking a shower... It took me quite a white to figure it out

Very traditional and cozy place that gives you a Japanese feeling and vibe. The place might be ideal for a day or two stay as it doesn’t have a modern bathroom and might not be convenient for all to take a shower- however it does have an old and clean bathroom

Traditional accomodation, fabulous breakfast, great location.

Great breakfast, great experience staying in a traditional Kyoto house.
-
Beautiful traditional house in a quiet location not too far from Kyoto station. Everything was so clean and the breakfast was delicious! A wonderful experience - thank you. Some of the other guests were quite noisy coming in late at night so bring earplugs as the walls are quite thin (although the accommodation also provide ear plugs which is helpful). Also, the property has a shared bathroom / toilet so sometimes there was a bit of a wait to access.

Traditional japanese room setting and the breakfast was a delight.

Is a Japanese Michaya house. Only one bathroom is a challenge to share with 10 to 12 fully booked. It is near Kyoto station 15 mins walk in a neighborhood place. So you can discover more japanese life there. In the evening dark the street light not bright. You tend to have difficulty in finding the BnB Tsukiya.
