Staff is amazing!! I had the best moments with staff during my stay. They are really helpful. Location is okay if you are looking somewhere close to Kyoto Station. Plus there is a huge temple nearby. Thank you for happy memories.

I stayed here for 5 nights. The staff was very friendly and the accommodation was very clean. It takes about 10 minutes on foot from Kyoto Station and is in an easy-to-find location. It's convenient when you're on the move. I recommend it.

Clean, staff was good. Traditional Japanese seating was not that comfortable for my old body. Didn’t accept credit cards. Cold in the spring.

Nice facility, all basic amenities are met. Check-in (4PM) and check-out (10AM) times are unreasonable.

very kind receptionist. everything else was not good. my bed had hair on it and old tissues and a toothpick from a previous guest when i arrived. not comfortable, weird smell and way too expensive for what it is.

This place is super nice. I have felt like I was in my home. Location is perfect, beds are huge, there's even a bathtub! And the stuff is brilliant - especially, when you will be checking in, you will be welcomed by Mr. Tōru, one of the most cool person I meet during my trip in Japan! He is cheerful, helpful and very kind, and he reminds me a big Tanuki, and I believe that he, same as the Tanuki, brings good luck ( to the people whose staying in that hostel ).

    Exceptional

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

Location is good. This facility is NOT a guesthouse! It is a very expensive and overpricec hostel. Dorms have bunk beds. Beds are not made up for arriving guests, who need to put sheets and pillow case on themselves. Coffee (instant) disappeared quickly and was not refilled. One face basin was unusable. Far too expensive for minimal facilities.

The kitchen was ok, there was free tea and coffee I got charged 23440 yen -about 170 euro - for 2 nights and had to pay that in cash. Late booking in Sakura season, but still extreme No towel, very small dorm room, no space for luggage, they were in the hallway. Toilets and shower downstairs, so on another floor for me. Had to make the bed myself, which at that price is unpleasant. It was a put down on my stay in kyoto

    Exceptional

It was difficult to find as google maps took me to another location. Staff were friendly but only available in the afternoon/evening. The dorm room had no window and 8 beds (4 bunks) it was very crowded and there was no where for anyone to put any luggage, I think it wouldn’t pass fire regulations. It was the most I paid per night during my whole stay in Japan and the hostel had the least facilities , there weren’t even towels . I would recommend you book early to avoid having prices hiked up during cherry blossom. It was really poor value for money

The man at reception was lovely and the rooms were small but comfortable enough. Property gets cleaned daily so is impeccable, and very close to Tokyo train station which is perfect for travellers. There is a male and female dorm, and toilets and showers are separate for each. Overall great, apart from the snoring and morning alarms of your bunk mates, which is purely just luck! No storage for luggage
