The room was clean and had a nice, rustic theme. It was nice to have a kitchenette available as well as lakefront, swimming pool and hot tub access. I liked that parking was free and I could park close to the room. The bathroom door could have used a second track to keep it in place. It also seemed like other people staying at the Sundowner were not honoring that quiet hours start at 10pm. The area in general was also more touristy than I was expecting.

Nothing like the pictures. No staffs to receive you, you have to call a phone number. The place is old and outdated.

The aesthetic was great but staffing was terrible. Called and asked for early check in and was told they can’t even see if possible without adding a fee. Told them I’d grab lunch and come back and still had to call and wait after 3pm to be checked in and the rules seemed a little over the top. For example, you need to wash your dishes if you use them and no towels to be used for wiping the floors and will be charged if stained. The towels were very cheap and already stained. The front office was a mess and the shower leaked. The heater didn’t work and the room was freezing. The hotel was very pretty but very uncomfortable to use anything will not stay again. Staffing and the cutting corners for budgeting
