The Lake Motel

The parking was a big challenge. Long narrow private driveway with no space to turn around. You have to back out or do 3 point turn each time. The beach access is down a steep hill that I personally could not manage due to my knee problems, I didn’t get to use the pool, beach area due to access. Our room was very clean and updated, but only 1 night stand to share.

Perfect spot along the lake. Plus its o ly a 10 minute walk from restaurants, bars and a 15 minute walk to the ferry

Nice location. They have done their best with the old property. Staff is great. Free ice cream on Thu and fireworks on the lake in summer.

Absolutely love this place! The rooms were clean, the beds were so comfortable! The pool area was smaller than we originally thought but had no problem finding a chair to relax in! There was always someone available if we needed and the property was kept so clean! There was a cute little area in the lake to swim and the pool overlooked the lake! Highly recommend!!!

Staff was very friendly and the property well maintained.

The parking is a bit precarious. But EVERYTHING else is great. Nice people working there. Super location. Good time with my granddaughter.

Parking structure is not easy to use

Family of 4 stayed at the Lake Motel for 4 nights. The parking lot is a little tight but overall we were very happy with the motel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I saw them every day and could tell they were all working very hard to keep the guests happy and the property clean. Having access to kayaks and paddle boards was a great amenity although we thought they were included in the price it turned out they were each $10 per hour to rent. Having access to the Lake was awesome. We were a little surprised that there wasn’t an actual “beach” area, rather there is access to the Lake directly from the dock. The pool area and additional decks with seating and fire pits were all really nice as well as were the available grills. This motel is just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the busy part of the village and still close enough to walk to all the downtown area attractions. We will definitely stay here again!

The activities they provide every night was a perfect little touch for us. ( candle making, s’mores, ice cream and root beer …) The pool and property was ALWAYS clean and well kept. Love that they always provide pool towels. Location right on the lake was also a 10/10! The scenic view of Lake George was top for us! Sitting by the fire pits, and grilling dinner while having that amazing lake view right on site was a great extra! Private lake access with boating options was fun. We were also walking distance to everything which was a big plus for us. No need to drive anywhere!! Having fresh coffee at the main desk daily was great;) Armand at the front desk was delightful and always helpful! Always smiling and great with the guests! Francisco, another one of their workers.. we will never forget his presence and so hardworking every single day! Camilla thanks you for her ice cream:))))) We also had the privilege to speak with the owner Steve, thank you for putting your heart and soul into this place. Home away from home ❤️ Overall, we highly recommend The Lake Motel and thank you for a great family getaway :) We will definitely be coming back here for our next getaway! Andrea and family

Very good and nice

The staff were extremely helpful. Housekeeping went over and beyond.

Nightly amenities were a great bonus, and hotel was easy walking distance of downtown attractions, stores and eateries. The only downside was parking which is limited to one car per room and very tight. Quests who drove larger vehicles such as a Yukon, Denali, Escalade or F250/350 truck required multiple spaces which further limited parking.

Perfect for what we needed

I am hoping to help other people by leaving this review. If you are a young couple with children you will probably like this place. However if you are traveling with older family member’s that have trouble getting around you should look elsewhere. There is nothing at all that is handicapped accessible. The unfortunate part of all of this was that the owner totally missed the point of our conversation. He did offer to get a wheelchair however that would not be helpful. All we wanted was to spend time together as a family. We ended up sitting outside of our rooms on the curb while the kids ran around in the driveway. Not ideal. We stayed 2 out of the 4 nights that I booked and choose to go elsewhere for the last 2 nights. The point of this review is to warn anyone who is traveling with a handicapped person definitely look somewhere else. Don’t make the same mistake as me
