Very nice hotel with friendly, personal staff. We received great help with our questions and they recommended a lovely private boat trip with its own captain. A very nice property with a great history. Very nice pool, clean and tidy. If we have to mention one downside, it’s that there was no restaurant or food available after 6:00 PM. You then have to go to town, which is a short drive away. Not a big problem, but it requires some planning.

Very well restored, well-equipped, and although not in a great location, it's not far from the town either. The people are very attentive and helpful. The pool area is very nice and relaxing; we really enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like was the noise the trains make when they pass by (they pass very close to the messeria). They make the room vibrate and disturb your sleep, which happens several times a day from early in the morning.

The Masseria is really beautiful and the characterful buildings are impressively restored, historic and special. The swimming pool was great and we appreciated a relaxing and refreshing swim after a day of travelling. The Masseria is very well located for visiting the lovely town of Lecce. Everything is of a very high standard and extremely comfortable; highly recommended. The only disaapointment was that because we were there on a Sunday morning, we were told that there had been no bread delivery for breakfast. This was a pity as we then couldn't sample the delicious looking selection of homemade jams provided in the buffet breakfast.

The Masseria Borgo Mortella is really beautiful, it is perfect all nicely decorated. The room was comfortable, the pool was really nice with the gardens and olive grove surrounding the house. The breakfast was excellent, traditional food of the region and for a farmhouse. We got recommendations for places to visit near and around Salento. The location was perfect and close to Lecce, we love the recommendations for dining. If we go back to Lecce, we will definitely stay here again. Nothing

A bit expensive for an air bnb type set up but the amazing staff and attention to detail made it worth it

The masseria designed in a perfect way that you feel like it is your private home. You can enjoy every corner of this amazing property with peace and pleasure. And the most important is, Eleonora and Carlo and their team are amazing. All is perfect?

We liked the location not in the city but yet not too far. If you have a car, it's a 10 minute drive. We also the design of the place. It is renovated nicely. The rooms are large and luxurious. The service and hospitality are very nice. We didn't like the stairs from the living room to the gallery where the bed was located. It makes a lot of noise , especially if you wake up in the middle of the night and want to go to the bathroom. The train passes by closely, what be for some people, a noise hazard. We didn't mind much. The breakfast was disopinting. We think that charging extra money for an omelet at breakfast is not appropriate for the money we paid. We were surprised and also that the place charges extra for coffee capsules to the room. We received them because of the misunderstanding that we were not informed in advance. Any for this price charging extra for coffee capsules is un opropriate

Service, knowledge, warm welcome and the location! Would def come back

Unfortunately there are trains passing by from early morning and all day right next to the property. We weren’t able to sleep comfortably because of the trembling.
-
Very authentic property with lots of history.
-
Room/Area layout, cleanliness, grounds, friendly staff, fresh fruit. Breakfast was basic, charged extra for eggs without advanced notice. Lots of background noise (construction, railway, nearby factory). Lawn parking area.

The actual old house was very beautiful and wonderfully restored. Pretty gardens and very good pool with comfy sun beds. we had a ‘junior suite’ which was comfy if slightly precarious with a narrow stair up to the bed which was on a mezzanine level. Very friendly helpful owner. Delicious breakfast and home made jams. Our bed was up a very narrow set of stairs/steps with a slightly curious rope arrangement to stop us falling quite a long way down into the sitting area and a bannister on the wall side…. as mentioned in other reviews there is a main road one side which spoils the peace by the pool and a train that runs right by the garden wall day and night slightly shaking the property. Quite expensive we felt. Also very hard to find the gate in as has two.. one locked by a padlock and another with rather unclear sign. As on fast road you really had to know where to turn in! Tissues in the bathroom would be good. Realise have to drive into Lecce every evening for supper as nothing near.
