Albergaria Senhora do Monte

View was nice Bed bugs, next day we woke up with lots of bites and even find one on my wifes body, unfortunately staff was obviously aware but not willing to do anything about it. even they did not respond to my email. also staff were too old and grumpy and they would act like your grandma if you arrive late at nights and nag you when you close the door with rush. Overall existence of a bed bugs alone should be enough for anyone to avoid this place at all cost until they learn to respect customer and do something about it

the view from the room was ridiculous! the city, the castle, the water...everything! breakfast wasn't great.

Location Nothing

There is nothing I can say I didn't like.

The view. Breakfast was inedible. We ate out every day after the first morning. The night reception spoke little English and had a hard time understanding us. They couldn’t back us up when a taxi charged us 38 euros for a ride that had cost us less than 10 euros in the other direction.

You can’t beat the view. It’s a charming old hotel. Staff were very kind and all spoke pretty good English which was helpful as a traveler. Room was on the third floor under breakfast so no sleeping past 7 am once they start moving tables and chairs. Visible mold and breaking plaster in the rooms, probably not the best for someone with allergies or asthma to stay. Shower very unpleasant as it often turned randomly cold or scalding hot. No bottle opener in the room nor ability to make tea/coffee in the room. They hold your key at reception which I find strange, and one time someone misunderstood me and gave me the key to someone else’s room on accident…seems like more of a security concern than just letting the guests hold onto their own room keys.

The location is amazing. Probably the (or one of) highest hotel in the city with a nearly 360 view. My room had a large terrace which was very enjoyable. The staff are very nice. I guess it’s a family ran hotel. The neighborhood is one of the most charming of the city, very busy in the daytime yet quiet at night and early morning. The facilities are definitely a bit old, but honestly it almost added to the charm. Everything still worked and everything was very clean. I could tell it used to be a very nice hotel back in the time.

Only location WiFi was down the first day. The staff were either indifferent, normal or rude. The manager was not available most of the time and when I had issues that manager o my knew, they refrained to call him.

Like most hotels in this area its located on a hill, and doesn’t have a direct transport leading to it - to get to the city centre you still need to walk about 10 minutes to the tram station. It also didn’t have wifi due to the weather last week, which I thought was a bit odd since other hotels and restaurants in the area seemed unaffected. The hotel itself is in need of renovation its a bit old and outdated.

Fabulous location on top of hill overlooking Lisbon and very safe for solo travellers. Staff were always eager to help in any way. The view was stunning from my room. Very spacious & comfortable. Laundry services but they were helpful in finding me a great one very close by. LOL

Location, and it had great amenities while feeling like it was a bit of a throwback. Nothing

The view was amazing, but the rest was average. A very old place that made me feel insecure. There was no lock by key; only a chain on the door.

The breackfast was simple but plenty of choise, nothing to complain about that.. just that the cervice lady was not to nice, Russian and we had to listen to her personal phone conversation in Russian trough our whole breakfast, it was loud and very unprofessional.

The view from the Senhora do Monte hill is probably the best in Lisbon. The price is quite reasonable for the city center. The room was clean, with a comfy bed and perfect temperature for a December day. The room interior and amenities (lighting, shower) are outdated. The hotel definitely needs a renovation. The check-in process was ridiculously long.

The staff were nice and helpful. The shower had almost no water coming out of it which made showering difficult. After using the toilet we had to flush quite a few times before the waste would actually go down. The sheets were summer sheets and very cold for a winter night. The posting on the Booking app says they have parking available but fail to inform that you have to pay 30 euros to use it.

Friendly and very helpful front desk staff. Helped me to print luggage tags and let us check in early after our overnight flight. Clean and very comfortable rooms. Breakfast buffet was a nice bonus’s.

I liked the location; wonderful view of Lisbon from my window The staff was not warm, I still don’t know if they have breakfast there or not. They only have one small pillow per bed, i’m sure I could have asked for more but I was surprised.

Breakfasts were rather poor. The property needs renovation, but the view makes up for it.

The view is outstanding - could not imagine a better view anywhere else in Lisbon. The rooftop was lovely - the breakfast was not very appealing and certainly not worth the cost. Would be nice to be able to access the roof at sunset....
