Delightful hotel with thought in every detail. The whole staff went out of their way to take care of our needs. The vibe of the place is quiet and lush. The garden was lovely to hang out in both during breakfast and any other time in the day. This is a perfect little hotel.

Amazing hotel; if only all hotels were this good. Even before we arrived when Booking.com had problems with my payment card, the hotel team were incredibly helpful and reassuring. They kept my booking safe and guided me through an easy alternative payment process. Truly excellent support. On arrival the welcome was warm and genuine. The buffet breakfast in the garden was fabulous, with the delicious freshly baked cakes and coffee/tea available all day. The honesty bar and delicious Port gave a real home from home vibe and the plunge pool (towels provided) was perfect after exploring the city. Beautiful hotel, exceptional staff, and a truly outstanding stay from start to finish Honestly, there wasn’t anything we didn’t like. It was a completely lovely stay.

Beautiful hotel, very intimate and personal feel. Amazing staff who made you feel very special and did everything they could to help you. Great food with complimentary freshly baked bread and cakes each day. Perfect location with a huge selection of options for food and drinks in a short walking distance. Comfortable bed and good sized room. Easy route to/from airport. No fridge in the room to keep water cold

Excellent accommodation and loved the freshly made breakfasts and cakes

The location and friendliness was unbeatable. There were some smells of mildew and gray water in the room but we found this to be pretty common among places in Lisbon so not a deal breaker. The bed wasn’t very comfortable
-
The charm, the location, the pool, the food, all of it was wonderful. Wish I had another night. Pool chairs, switch to loungers

The location was beautiful and convenient for walking to other activities. The breakfast was delicious and fresh each morning. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Loved everything. Breakfast. Location. Staff. It was basically an apartment with all the amenities. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We stayed on the top floor which had an outdoor patio.
-
Beautifully designed with a peaceful feel. We had a little trouble with the air conditioning on the final night, but it was perfect apart from that.

It is a very beautiful hotel in an old building with a small garden and a pool. My room had a terrace with a wonderful view of the inner garden, the river and surrounding buildings. The room itself is small, but it was enough for one person. The bed is comfortable. There is an elevator, so no problem taking all the luggage to the upper floors. The location is ideal for exploring Lisbon. They serve continental buffet breakfast right in the garden. The choice of food is rather limited, but everything is delicious. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Since it's an old building, there is a rather unpleasant smell coming from the drains in the bathroom. I knew about it from the previous comments, but it turned out to be worse than expected. I'm not sure if anything can be done with it. However, that's probably the only thing that I didn't like about my stay.

Exceptional experience staying at Casa do Barao! Joana & Madalena were fantastic. From the moment I arrived with too much luggage Madelena was there to greet me to help get sorted. Joana was at the front desk for the majority of my stay and supported with all my needs. From restaurant recommendations, to navigating the city alone, to activities. Her recommendations were top tier! Service like this is rare! The breakfast made by Angela was so yummy and enjoyed daily in the beautiful (and relaxing garden). Location was perfect! Having a little sanctuary to come home to was the BEST! Cannot recommend this hotel enough! There was nothing i didn't like. Just know it is an older building which has been renovated, so i could hear some noises (maybe construction next door?) But all in all it didn't impact my sleep or relaxation.

Here's a review draft: --- **A Hidden Gem in Portugal** Casa do Barão exceeded our expectations in every way. We stayed in a room with a private terrace — spacious and comfortable, with a wonderfully cozy bed that made it hard to get up each morning! Breakfast was a highlight of our stay: fresh baked goods every morning, clearly made with care. The property itself is beautiful, with a lovely garden and a plunge pool that was perfect for cooling off after a day of exploring. What really made the stay special was the owner, who was incredibly helpful and available whenever we needed anything — always ready with recommendations and genuine warmth. We'd happily return and recommend Casa do Barão to anyone looking for a relaxing, authentic stay.

he staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the location was perfect for exploring Lisbon. The hotel has a charming boutique atmosphere, was very clean, and made me feel comfortable throughout my stay. The rooms are on the smaller side, but that’s quite common for boutique hotels in the city. Other than that, everything was excellent.

The staff volunteered to have breakfast for the next day placed in our room since we would be leaving for an excursion before the kitchen would be open. They also opened the kitchen early the morning we left for our flight home. Leaving, the stay was so nice.

Exceptional
-
breakfast, cocktail hour, garden / pool, friendliness of staff, central location for city walks in all directions nothing comes to mind
-
The location, the decor, the staff, the garden, the breakfasts… lots of things! Building work was going on next door and our room was directly above the kitchen, so come 8am the coffee machine and hustle and bustle could be heard. No holiday lie-ins for us!

Absolutely loved my stay here. The owners are kind, accommodating, and helpful. The property is beautiful and very clean, and the breakfast and treats were delicious. Excellent location, and the pool was so nice to have to escape the heat and city crowds. 10/10
