Inn Bairro Alto - BA Sweet

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. No AC!!! I must have missed that when I booked.

excellent location, comfortable bed, pleasant staff and for being on the first floor and next to the breakfast area, it was still rather quiet. wifi connection was not very good, shower in the bathroom room leaked all over the floor.

The staff was really communicative and the service was amazing! They carried our luggage for us to our rooms. The water is delicious and the room was adorable and comfortable! Everything was great. The doorway getting out to the street is narrow and it was comical to get out with our suitcase

Bathroom: separated by a sliding door that isolates neither sound nor smell, and there is no ventilation other than into the room. This is no worse than other low-cost hotels, but an unacceptable cut on costs.

Location. Nice staff. Breakfast is ok. Basic, but ok. Shower works normally. Water was warm enough. The room was quite spacious but dirty. Very damp. I was told that it’s normal for Portugal. But I stayed in Porto in a fantastic place clean and dry. The bathroom is small and not comfortable. Everything looks like on the pictures, but dirty and older. There was a smell of dampness every time you enter. The fridge was very noisy. We had to switch it off for the night. The walls are thin, you can hear everything. And obviously they hear you. It’s not expensive. But in Madrid for income for the same price you get much better options.

The staff was professional, kind and considerate; however, I cancelled all 3 nights and have not been notified of my partial refund as yet. No air conditioning, tiny room, very noisy room and location. To be fair...evidently, that's what to expect in Bairro Alto.

The location was good if you are trying to be in Barrio Alto. Lots of bars and restaurants within a short walking distance. There was a parking lot just around the corner for 13.05 EUR per day which was convenient. The bed was comfortable. It had been updated to make it look nice even though the building itself was dated. Surface level it seemed cleaned, nothing was standing out as dirty but there was a mildew smell and for this reason we would not stay again. Additionally the walls were very thin and you could hear everything in the halls. We needed to leave the window open due to not having AC and the mildew smell but this meant we were hearing the people walking on the streets all night going to bars.

The most important aspect of my visit was the hospitality of Joanna and Jose. When I arrived in the evening, I was a little unsure of the location or if it was safe. However, I was met by Jose, who was extremely polite and helpful, carrying my luggage and explaining various details about nearby restaurants and locations. My experience was very pleasant; the nice-looking room, along with the entire aesthetic of the decor, made me feel welcome and warm. It was an intimate home away from home. I would highly recommend this location; you won't be disappointed! I like everything.

The room size, the friendliness of staff, the cleanliness, loved the area- perfect location full of bars and restaurants and very central Noise outside window at night, no ac but that was mentioned in description, room was decent temp

Great location and comfortable space.

Was clean, good location, great staff, liked having the water cooler in entrance. Too small, didn’t like the sliding door to the bathroom (lacked privacy), needed a bigger table in room for tea/ coffee /kettle, food, etc.. I felt the entranceway that the guests used could be more inviting…maybe more chairs to the tables, pictures on walls, maybe some plants, get rid of the brown cushion on the floor. Just didn’t have a cosy feeling when you walked in.
