What a gem here in Lisbon! The location was on a cute street, close to lots of cafés, shops & things to do. My room was brightly decorated, comfortable and had everything I needed (I was in a private room). Check out the Alface Bar downstairs next door, the bartender, Carolina, is fantastic and super friendly! Marta, at reception is kind and helpful. She referred me to some local places to eat and showed me everything I needed to know about the hostel. The owner, Bartolomeu is very responsive :) I felt safe walking on the street late at night and the hostel is secure. Highly recommend and hope to stay here again; a fabulous place overall! There was a problem with the lock on my door (I couldn't get back into my room, but I was inside the hostel.) The owner was very helpful & responsive, also it was no one's fault. Someone had to come & break the lock so it no longer locked but I still felt safe leaving for the evening with my things in the room :) I liked everything about Alface and will definitely stay there again when I’m in Lisbon!

very dirty facilities were not as advertised also so loud we ate the cost and left two nights early

The location - The entrance has no light, cigarette butts and alcohol bottles on the floor, and graffiti on the walls - The paint was peeling off the walls in the room - There was a literal hole in the wall of the room - The 'private bathroom' is absolutely tiny, the vanity is just plywood stapled together - There was an outlet in the room hanging on by a thread.

Very quiet inside the hotel/hostel. Was very surprised. Located walking distance to many local spots! Had a tough time falling asleep with the outside noise of the bars on the same street.

The location is central and we appreciate the hands off check in and check out. The manager was responsive and thought outside of the box when we brought up a concern with the beds. Mostly the beds. I know this is a hostel and so we had already adjusted the expectations, but honestly these mattresses were rather a torture devices than something facilitating an air of comfort. The manager provided extra blankets for us to sleep on, which made the stay bearable.

its is very noise, impossible to sleap

Super noisy and impossible to sleep because of the noise from the street during the night. The bed was uncomfortable because of the spring mattress.

the location one of the workers named Marta. She was very sweet and helpful! This was one of the worst stays I've experienced in the last 5 years. Literally yeeted me to being like 19 and traveling on the smallest budget there is. The price and the services provided do not match. For the way this place is, it's TOO EXPENSIVE! The property is located on a party street, it's SO SO LOUD it's impossible to sleep. The parties go on until 3-4 in the morning. Luckily, I had earplugs with me, but sometimes even that wasn't enough - the walls vibrated with the music from the outside. We ended up asking for another room, the first room (room 5) had a party bar literally under the windows. After the change, it got a bit better - but still, you can hear the parties outside. The next part of the horror was the showers. The toilet stalls and the showers are in the same room - and there's no partition between them. No door, just a flimsy curtain - and the door to the room doesn't close! So you can be naked in there, and someone walks in to use the toilet - and you'll be on full display (I'll add the pictures). It's a room to be shared with other guests, so there's a big chase some random person will see you naked. Also, only one toilet stall closes from the inside. The other thing is the faucet - I'll just add a picture and you'll see what that looks like. The property needs improvement and also to be honest about how loud it is. At least offer people some earplugs when they arrive. Remodeling the bathroom even a little bit would make it better, too. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The Alface Hall was well located in Lisbon. There were many bars and restaurants around, and the metro was only a short walk away. The kitchen was well-equipped and a place to spend some time. The bed was comfy, and hot water was plentiful. Wifi service was good. With so many bars and restaurants around, it is noisy at night. I knew about this from previous reviews, but didn't realise it was so bad. With the window closed, and having a room on the back side of the building, it was tolerable. But a light sleeper would be bothered. The lock on my room door was pretty flimsy. And the design of the WC in the room was not well thought out. To use the sink, you had to duck your head under a section of wall. And the sliding door to the WC was just a piece of unpainted plywood.

The room was small but clean and comfortable. The location was great except for the late night partying in the street. The shared space was comfortable and welcoming. The staff, especially Marta, was very kind.

Not even a thing EVERYTHING. I have been in hundreds of hotels, guest houses, etc. and have never seen something like this in my whole life. DISGUSTING, HORRIBLE, AWFUL! It is like sleeping in the rubbish. Everything broken, toilet used by someone before, hair on the ground, etc... I do not want to follow..... I would throw up.... DO NOT COME HERE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hotel was near to a lot of places to visit. It was small and okay for a 2 day trip.
