The staff were lovely, in particular the young girl that checked us in on arrival and the lady doing breakfast and cleaning in the mornings. The restaurant attached to the hotel was lovely for food. Handy to Livingston shopping centre and for getting to Edinburgh Rooms and hotel itself could be updated a bit but overall no complaints

Breakfast The room was small, the bathroom needed updating, there was no where to put toiletries ( no shelves or units) only a small sink. The door on the bathroom would not close due to rubbing on the floor.

Locality and breakfast It was far too hot but heating full on when we arrived and remained on in the corridor even though the weather was in the 20s. Also the bathroom door stuck to the floor making it extremely difficult to open and close (and noisy). The door has obviously swollen presumably due to water on the floor. This should be easy to remedy

Breakfast was nice, nice selections you can order the night before. The bar tender that checked us in after hours was very nice. She accommodated us in the middle of her shift when we needed something, we appreciated it. The room wasn't as nice as website pictures. Might have been our specific room, very small and cramped. Small bathroom, the shower didn't drain properly, filled up. Single bed felt like a cot, very uncomfortable and uneven. Found someone's garbage that fell down beside the desk and stained the carpet. Was missed by cleaners. When booking I didn't realize it was more of an event space and bar, we checked in late. People smoking at entrance as we entered. At breakfast I asked server if a manager was on site, he said he would check and then he didn't come back and let me know. Had wanted to cancel 2nd night and go elsewhere. Called Hotel number with no answer. Emailed Hotel after our stay to let them know of our disappointing Stay and no response . Very disappointed. Hotel ok for one night before flight but regretted staying for 2.

Working at the RHS it is a good distance to travel each day. After a long day's work it was fine for somewhere to sleep. Restaurant was useful for dinner for two nights. Reasonable price and good choice. Room was a bit dark. Lower ground level, meant it was a bit noisy from the bar area. But not too bad. Really hot weather and the radiators were on full in the hallway.
