Pretty hotel in an excellent location. The bed was comfortable Unfortunately my experience was not good, although friends who were also staying had a better experience. My room was dark (not much light but also dark decor) and the view was of a wall and roof. The bathroom had not been cleaned properly, I did ask for that to be rectified but the toilet was still badly stained and the wash basin had grey scratches. I also noticed cup rings on the bedside table. All these might have been bearable in a mid range guest house but not for a place charging over £200 per night. There was no light near the bedroom mirror so it was not really useful for hair and makeup. The tea and coffee selection was very basic. There was no way to get a late drink (11 pm) so I would have like a hot chocolate but there were no sachets, though my friends had some in their room. However the bed was comfortable, the towels were good and the shower was ok. Breakfast was ok, the buffet part was again very basic, so i had the 'full Welsh ' but there was nothing different from a full English except maybe some of the ingredients may have been sourced in Wales (hopefully?) However it was good value for money. As a final blow i accidentally left my phone charger and plug in the room but it was not handed in by cleaning staff. A salutory tale. As i say, i hope my experience was not typical but i dont think the rooms and quality match the high prices.

All the staff here are so lovely! The rooms are lovely and clean, the grounds of the hotel is beautiful. It’s a short walk into the town, perfect location! Breakfast was delicious! We will definitely be staying again!

We traveled with our dog and had a great room with an access, all staff were very friendly, accommodating to us having our dog, also had an amazing welcome on reception when we arrived! Nothing, have stayed previously without our dog and enjoyed then too.

Location Intentionally overpriced for booking.com customers. They call them "Not Normal" customers. You pay min 95 pounds more compare their own website and they treat you as secound class guest. When you complain to management, they tell you in your face that they do not care about your feedback and they will ignore it. At least they are honest about that someone would say! Tiny bed.

The location is fantastic - easy access to Llangollen and it's lovely eateries. The building itself looks beautiful. Staff, although pleasant, were not attentive in any way. The rooms are not redressed each day, you have to request this. You are not provided robes, despite also having a spa treatment booked in. Robes were an additional £7.50pp and towels in the spa were also additional. The spa facilities themselves were basic at best, with many of the buttons not working to turn on the bubbles/ taps. Also - no Aircon in the rooms! Overall, it wasnt bad, but we won't stay again.
