Olde worlde - with a library ( & daily newspapers) and drawing room and old-fashioned lift. Felt like being in an Agatha Christie novel- old portraits in the hallway. Very charming. Also held a small gathering in their restaurant which went well. (Sadly I didn’t get to have their high tea or make use of their neighbouring hotel’s facilities which were also available. ) No complaints. Gym a little limited.

Location , architecture . Polite and helpful staff and prompt service Interior needs to be updated since carpeting appeared quite old and not clean . Bathrooms would also benefit from updating even if this is an old hotel Quite pricey , maybe because of the location and building

Very quirky and full of character. Staff are very good and helpful, engaged. Having access to a garden from the hotel is appreciated and very unusual. Bar and restaurant good quality. Lift very quirky and difficult and small. A walk around the property when arriving would be useful. Bathrooms very small and water temp in shower variable. But it’s an old and quirky property and these things come with it.

The staff at the hotel reception were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Lovely, lovely people. We arrived early and they were so happy to store our bags and offer us a shower etc.

Everything was great. Super friendly and helpful staff. Lovely room. Very clean. Great bed. Poached eggs at breakfast were disappointing and undercooked. That’s the only thing!
