Bedford Hotel

Surprised that there was no air conditioning. Had to keep the windows open and they were directly above all of the street noise on Bedford Street.

Location is its biggest attraction. Lobby looks beautiful until you get up to the room. The room was tiny. Bathroom tiny. No air conditioning. Right by the street means you can hear everything on the street. Tiny fridge (but fridge at all is a plus) and no microwave. Cold water pressure almost nonexistent.

We were there for 5 days in July, during a normal summer heatspell, with temperatures peaking at 26-32 C during the day and comfortable at night. Unfortnately, like many old London buildings, the hotel was designed to retain heat and the rooms lack A/C. So we had to sweat through the night. We apprecaite that the room came with a small standing fan and that the windows were able to crack open about 2 inches, but that provided only modest relief. If we were to visit London again in summer, we would choose a more modern hotel. The rooms are a tad larger than the average London hotel room, but their amenities, comfort, and decor are average. I'm not sure the room is particularly good value for the relatively high cost.

The room was very clean. There was water cooler with hot and cold water tap in the lobby. There was also a kettle in the room, refilled daily with tea bags, coffee, and sugar. There is no air conditioning, we were given a fan that circulates hot air, but in the hot June we were given winter microfiber blankets. A mockery.

Great location.

My family and I stayed at the Bedford Hotel for nine days. The location was phenomenal. We loved staying in Bloomsbury. It was central to so many of the places that we wanted to visit, and walking around the city was super easy. Plus, the bus stop to Trafalgar Square was conveniently located right across the street. The hotel itself was really comfortable, clean, and welcoming. It was always nice to return to a relaxing and convenient place after long days of exploring. We're looking forward to staying here again.

The hotel was well located and the staff were very professional and helpful. It was warm and in the mid-80's with the sun hitting the room in the afternoon hours. Without air conditioning it was very warm in the room. The hotel put a fan in the room and opened the windows but that didn't help much until the sun went down which was pretty late this time of year. Very uncomfortable sleeping.

Needs air conditioning during a heatwave!

I have staued at the Bedford when I am in London for over forty years. I think that tells you everything you want to know. I stay at the hotel for convenience. It does all it needs to do for me

Breakfast had a good variety. Staff was attentive and friendly.

Great location, friendly staff

Very friendly and professional staff who pro actively contacted me prior to my arrival for any assistance and needs. Excellent location which is centrally located to all major sightseeing attractions, especially the British and Art Museums that are located just nearby. No A/C. Since we’re staying at the bedroom facing the street, we couldn’t open the window during sleep because of loud traffic noise, so the room got stuffy. Bathroom is dated and real small. The bathtub is high, which is tough for older folks.

I like that the property was pretty centrally, located to the tube blinds and great restaurants around it along with a fantastic restaurant inside the hotel

The staff were amazingly helpful, special thanks to Siobhom at the reception who gave me lots of assistance and guidance to get around the city from transportation guidance, to must see places and most cost effective ways to take! The hotel breakfast was excellent with great variety and dinning experience overlooking a lovely garden area. the Hotel location was very convenient, right besides supermarket, restaurants, bus stop and walking distance from main attractions and shopping areas. The room was overlooking the main road which was a bit noisy at night. Probably next time will request a room over looking the garden at the back.

Perfect location. Very clean and comfortable. Full breakfast included. Friendly and informative staff. Not one thing.
