The staff was excellent. Our heavy bags were carried upstairs for us and back down when we checked out. And the pub staff was very nice as well. Our room was lovely - not large but adequate with a modern bathroom, a very comfortable bed, space enough for our bags and moving about, plus a nice coffee and tea service. Despite being above a pub and very close to the outdoor "beer garden," the room was very quiet. And I loved the art work of dogs in royal regalia. We ate dinner in the pub one night which serves very good Asian food - pot stickers, spring rolls, etc. The location is excellent. It is only two blocks from the Warren Street tube station which took us straight to the West End for theater on day and straight to Waterloo Station where we caught a train to Hampton Court. Perfect for site seeing. It was also easy walking distance (maybe 1/4 mile) to Euston Train Station where we were booked on a train to Holyhead, Wales after checking out. Couldn't have been more convenient. There was nothing I didn't like! It was perfect for us.

Quiet location. 3 narrow, steep flights up - which was only a challenge with luggage.

    Great location, great staff!

Great rooms, nice linens, great comfort, and style! It was a shame the pub was closed for our entire visit and that we were not made aware of that ahead of our trip. Having food and drink on the premises would have been nice.

We loved the king sized bed (the pillows were a little too soft - wish they were a little thicker). The bathroom was really nice. The free snacks and water was great but wish we had extra water bottles supplied since the pub was closed the whole time we were there. I liked how it easy it was to get in and out when the pub is closed. We loved the look of the room. It was very spacious and comfortable! We were very disappointed that the pub was closed till January 5th. We wanted to eat there and have drinks on NYE there especially since it would have been nice to walk back to our room after drinks and/or a meal rather than walk 16-20 minutes to the nearest pub. We really wished we got to experience that convenience of sleeping above a pub. It was the biggest reason why we picked this hotel for Dec 31-Jan 1 and it wasn't even opened. I wish you guys posted that online on the booking website so we could rethink it especially for how much we paid which was a lot of money. The hotel we stayed at the day before was very nice, cheaper, and a short walking distance to the sites and had a lift It should have been cheaper if the pub was going to be closed the whole time rather than more expensive just because it was NYE and New years day. What's the point if we can't have drinks downstairs? Also way too many stairs to walk. Wish there was a lift. The stairs were also very small and tight so it was hard to carry the luggage up and down. The automatic lights in the hallways of the stairs also were delayed so it was hard to see sometimes. Our room was very hot and even when we tried to turn it down it was still hot - we had to keep the window open which was hard to adjust so it didn't really help much. The TV only worked sometimes which was frustrating - again not really worth the price. Really wish the pillows were a bit more comfy and less flat - they provided very little support.

Location, amazing food, friendly staff, great value! Stairs were not easily navigated

Such a great location. It is right in the center of London; however, away from the madness in a quiet area. Spacious room to spread out. The bathroom is also large with a huge bathtub and excellent water pressure. People before mentioned the stairs- we are in good shape so there was no issue and they were expected.

Excellent location and spacious room. Staff also very helpful. Value for money. Although the location and room was good, the cost was very high.

The Grafton is an easy metro ride from the Paddington station which was important to me. The room was large and had a very bath. Most importantly it was decorated warmly with a lot of personality.

We liked the boutique style of the hotel. We also liked the restaurant. The food and the drinks were tasty. We liked the outdoor terrace in the evening. The location was great. Really close to two underground stops. The shower was small. But it’s a typical European style shower. The sink was hard to access due to the glass shelf that was right above it. If anyone has a mobility issue, the step into the bathtub/shower was very high. Would not be good for short people.

No breakfast. Like the quaint feel of the place. You walked through the bar to get to the staircase to the rooms. Very friendly staff and accommodating. Busy with locals in the bar in the evening but not overly loud and got quiet exactly at 10pm. What some may not like was no elevator just stairs. Didn’t bother us, added to the ambiance of the building.

The stairs! There is no lift (they are quite upfront about this). The staff leaps to help you with your bags, so your luggage will not be the issue. But if the lodger has difficulty with stairs, this may not be a good fit.
