Location, location, location, what a spot close to the river. It was mid heatwave and the rooms had no AC just a fan, so the room was hot, very hot.

Beautiful, traditional corner room at a lovely pub, overlooking the meadows & Thames at Petersham. We booked for my husband’s birthday & all the staff, from booking to our actual stay, couldn’t have been kinder & more helpful. Fabulous value for our 2 night stay, particularly when you consider that we had free parking for 3 days & we could easily walk into Richmond along the river. Ate at the pub & they had very tasty food - and large portions! Nothing - the stay was perfect. (Pub drinks (not beers/stouts) were expensive, but a minor quibble & maybe that’s just London prices!)

Breakfast excellent. Location almost perfect n/a

The location was great and staff were very friendly and helpful We had a lower level room by the courtyard, there was no blinds at the window so if we had the curtains open everyone could see in the room. The bed was small and there was only one bed side unit. The room was boiling hot even without the heating turned on. The room and facilities are quite aged so could do with a refresh. Walls were thin so much so we could even hear the people next door plugging in their electric items. Very basic for what we paid per night.

It was a nice location, and while we didn't eat in the restaurant it had a nice ambience. The in-suite tea was much enjoyed. The room was not the most comfortable, and the heater did not work and it was February, so quite cold.

Location Friendly staff stayed at the hotel 15 years ago. No chair or TV the in room. No toilet articles (shampoo, bonds wash) in shower. Restaurant was short on several popular items.

The breakfast wasn’t worth the money. I loved the location and the staff were great. The rooms are very outdated. No extra plugs, no way to charge. No TVs which is fine but the pub was dead.

Our bathroom needed a renovation, but it was clean.

Location excellent, bed comfortable, bathroom good, breakfast very good, parking great. Room a bit small for two, no bedside cabinet on one side, no desk. Room a bit warm although fan helped.

Location, beautiful surroundings, close to river and walks. Also great regular bus service 65 into Richmond from stop near hotel. Had 1 evening meal in pub which were delicious and very generous portions, reasonably priced. Pub/hotel staff polite & helpful. Room facilities. Only 1 bedside table & light in double room so for a hotel with no TV (which didn't bother us) my husband couldn't even read a book unless we kept main light on. Small narrow shelf in bathroom so had to keep our toiletries in bags, not even a door hook to hang towels. Uncomfortable mattress, too soft, both ached in mornings. Switched on a light 1st morning which fused everything! Delayed us getting out as couldn't shower in dark! 2nd night a brewery delivered beer barrels between 11.30pm -around midnight waking us up as they rolled barrels in & loud talking. To cap it all, on our departure day after being told we could leave our bags in the storeroom to collect later, we found a notice saying reception was closed & to leave key through letterbox so we were stuck with our bags hence ruining our plans of a last day walking to Ham House along the river. Totally disgruntled with this hotel although the bar/restaurant staff were very nice so can only blame the management! Would NOT recommend!

The rooms reak of dead people. Like an old persons home. Musty. The place needed a refurbishment 20 years ago. Now you feel old age grip you from every pore of the building. Room doors do not auto lock. Dank. Like sleeping in a graveyard.

Great location with view over to the river. Just a short walk into Richmond. The staff are lovely and although the room is a little dated, it was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable and bed linen was good quality. The breakfast was really well cooked and very tasty

Comfortable and clean with a great atmosphere. I really enjoyed staying here. Location is beautiful. Nothing. It’s not modern but that’s why I like it. Bit of a hike up the outside stairs which won’t suit everyone, check when you book.

Location Very tired and a bit dirty. We had a family room. Beds very uncomfortable and shower head needed replacing as it was barely a trickle. Plus no tv!
