Even keeping in mind that this is an historical site and is 90 plus years old, the stateroom we had left a lot to be desired. First off, the beds were so incredibly hard and I love a firm mattress. This was slightly better than the floor. Both beds in the double queen were like this. Linens were clean and of good quality. There is no free breakfast, or even discounted breakfast. No coffee machine or fridge. A fridge costs $15 a day extra. There’s hidden fees that you don’t find out about until you book. First one is parking. It’s $39 for self parking in their stupid parking lot. The lot has been shrunk down because of the amphitheater and they are already planning Halloween so there’s no parking whatsoever. My husband is handicapped and we had to walk 15 minutes to even get near the ship. Next fee is this “historical preservation fee”. It’s $23. Why am I paying a $23 fee when I’ve already spent damn near $300 for one night? Third fee was the $100 deposit which can take quite a while to get back onto your card so beware. We had two free tours but they are the historical tours and not anything supernatural related, which my husband and son were both most interested in.

Great experience on the Queen Mary! The ship is surprisingly well-kept for its age. We did the 2-hour paranormal tour, which was super spooky and informative. Huge shoutout to our guide, Gus, who did an amazing job!

We had an older room that had some wear and could use a little tlc, but overall was a great experience. The hotel definitely gives you a look at what a liner was back then. I recommend taking a tour around and checking all the different things out. Would definitely book again.

The Queen Mary has always been our go too place to stay before leaving on a cruise. However now the City of Long Beach has decided that guests are no longer allowed to park in the parking lot…you are routed down the street about 2 miles away. You then have to shuttle back over and you are not allowed to leave your car there for the duration of the cruise. Now I will say that it is complimentary, however for the price of the room, the age of the hotel and the fact that the walls are paper thin you are better off at a different hotel that allows the long term parking.

Belle expérience avec la nuit et la visite du bateau (musée). Emplacement idéal pour dormir avant une croisière avec Carnaval à Long Beach!

If you are seeing a band at the new F&M Bank Amphitheater, PLEASE be aware that you have to shuttle OFF the property to park and also PAY for that experience. We were unaware off all of that, so it completely defeated the purpose of our stay. You might as well pay to park offsite for the concert and shuttle in. Very strange but here we are! And they could probably forewarn the people paying to stay on the Queen Mary, that would’ve been helpful. The time the shuttle starts is 7 AM. We had to leave by 6 AM so we had to make the walk to the offsite parking lot with all of our stuff. The early morning pictures were the best part I guess.

First time on the queen Mary and it was amazing. You can get there early to explore and there is a free tour. Wish we had stayed two nights so we could have explored more. Definitely will be back again

Lovely ship and lots to do on board.

The Queen Mary staff are consistently thoughtful and efficient. Tommy and Tanida at the Observation Bar are especially welcoming and kind. Lupe and Elvia at the Promenade Café go the extra mile to make dining a joy. The ship’s history, museum exhibits, tours, and artifacts create a wonderfully engaging experience. Well done, Queen Mary staff. A lovely special place.

So the Queen Mary continues to be a great place to stay, especially before a Carnival Cruise departure; however, be warned that the city has taken over quite a bit of their parking for the new amphitheater. You will need to be prepared to walk a ways with your luggage after parking to get to the entrance. They do have some golf carts and we were lucky enough to have one stop and offer to drive us in. There is no more driving you across to the cruise terminal, though, you will need to walk out and around to get there. It’s not a bad walk, just be prepared and make other arrangements if you have mobility issues. Staff goes above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay for their guests, and our room was clean and comfortable.
