My wife and I stay at the Maya every year for our anniversary for many years now. We appreciate the quiet, couples atmosphere here. Unfortunately, our recent stay here was disappointing. We stayed Sunday, June 21st through Tuesday, June 22nd. We were awakened early buy banging sounds. It seems there may have been work going being done on our floor, or below us. I couldn't pinpoint it. This was on both mornings. I chalked it up to being weekdays (we usually stay on Friday or Saturday nights). We were told our room was an "newly renovated" room which is great. However, when I walked into the bathroom after my wife showered, I stepped into a puddle of water with my socks. Gross. I asked my wife "did you shower with the door open?" She said no. After mopping up all the water with some towels, I took a shower and the same thing...a large puddle on the floor. It seems the construction of the shower curb angle is wrong. Instead of the angle forcing water to fall back into the shower, it flows out. There is also no splash guard just outside of the shower glass to prevent more water from flowing out. I did call the front desk for more towels and we got them in 2 minutes. Impressive. Our dinner at the restaurant was disappointing as we waited over 30 minutes for someone to take our order. I have more comments, but no more space to write. So, even as your pricing has climbed, we still try to come to the Maya as this is special memory for our Anniversary.

Great resort in Long Beach outside of city but within easy drive and walk to many restaurants and attractions. Exceptional room with view, staff very personable and accommodating. Enjoyed the restaurant for drinks and dinner and have no significant issues with our stay. Really excellent venue with great ‘beach’ pool and views. I would recommend better in room, heavy towels for this caliber hotel. Our initial room did not have a view, actually looked out to a ‘garden’ tree which if we had stayed longer also would have been overview of a wedding. We booked via 3rd party which is maybe why room did not have view and management could have easily comped our upgrade as it was special occasion and hotel not fully occupied however we do understand bottom line. Lobby staff were helpful and extra nice for checking-out with clean spacious rooms and spectacular grounds. There are not many places near the hotel for snacks and the lobby has limited and pricey options, so stock up on your way. Self- parking fee is a bit much. Highly recommended staying here if in the area.

The dining and jacuzzi experiences were great, as well as relaxing at the “beach” area. The front desk were very helpful to change our room to be near the pool to make our daughter’s birthday more special.

Room was clean and comfortable. Property was well maintained. The jacuzzi was nice. A few things were off. First $45 per night to park seemed a bit ridiculous. I’ve stayed in nice hotels in city centers where they charge for parking. The location did not warrant a charge to park. Went to the bar an hour before closing and they wouldn’t allow us to open a tab because they said they were closing early. Stayed for an hour and a half with one drink. Body wash was out in the shower. I know they have to clean rooms fast but it was overlooked before we arrived and during our stay. I’ll be back to Long Beach to see family, but I’ll stay somewhere else.

The hot tub and pool area was nice, also the restaurant was pricey but nice

We love our room and the swimming pool. We didn’t like that we have to pay $45 to park a rental car before our cruise and also no free breakfast but overall the place is really good

A really nice hotel. It’s away from it all but right next door to everything! I would stay here again if ever in Long Beach
