Location 10/10! Rooms are okay not amazing. Clean enough. Staff okay, not good not bad, just okay.

The location is great! It's right opposite the Farmer's market and the Grove. The female receptionists in the morning aren't very welcoming - 'mind your business' type - they were constantly browsing on their cellphones infront the customers. Having said that, the male receptionist at night was very welcoming. They charge 100 usd desposit for each night, so for 4 nights we had to pay 400 usd deposit, which is unheard of even in the big chains of hotels. The rooms are tiny. After our stay here, we moved to another hotel nearby, which was a better value.

Best location in Los Angeles for access to Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the grove

Great experience, excellent location right across The Grove and Farmers market.

Short Stories Hotel is a gorgeous, open air style hotel. The rooms are perfectly decorated in a Hollywood style. Everything was clean, and the staff is highly attentive. The housekeeping even left us little chocolates on our pillow each day. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for your stay in LA. It’s right across from Television City and a short walk to the Grove were there were tons of amazing restaurants, a Whole Foods, and a CVS.

Short Stories is always my go to hotel while visiting Los Angeles. I find it fairly central (between Beverly Hills and Downtown LA) to shopping, restaurants, and grocery stores like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. The hotel sits on a busy street, but you wouldn't know based on the courtyard that gives the hotel a tranquil feel.

I love this hotel! It is extremely well decorated and always clean. The location can't be any better. Super close to the Original Farmers Market and The Grove. They also have a restaurant attached so grabbing some food or drink in the evening is convenient. I definitely recommend Short Stories if you are coming to the LA area!

Great location. Nice rooms.

The rooms decor and the lobby are really stylish and well kept. The AC are very noisy and the light from the corridor outside the room makes it difficult to have pitch black. Is that may be disturbing your sleep, take an eye mask and earplugs.

Very good

Decent place to stay. Picked it for location since it’s literally across the street from the Farmers Market and the Grove! Super helpful staying with 2 teenage girls who could safely walk over to shop or eat when they wanted! Good location. We felt safe. Would recommend. Rooms not glamorous or huge but comfortable and well maintained. Looked like old school motel they renovated. Good happy hour and amenities.

Everyone was so incredible and had such a lovely stay!
-
great convenient location - friendly staff - clean hotel
-
Charming. Very Charming. Great little place close to West Side stuff like LACMA and Farmers Mkt. Hip. Clean. Cozy secluded tree-covered patio and free coffee in the AM. Recommended!

I did not like all the additional fees. For parking $45 plus a parking tax as well, tourist taxes, and them keeping our car keys since it valet parking only. It made it harder for me to go out and about.
