VILLA BRASIL MOTEL

It is close to Venice beach and you can park right near your room for free but the motel is very old and room was too small. They gave me the key to my room and when I entered windows were closed and no AC was running. The room smelled musty and dirty. The trash from the previous guests was still in the trash can. Mold was around the tub, and bathroom floor had broken tiles.

The whole place is charming and simple. We had the room above the office which was more than enough for two of us. It would be a great place for a family visiting LA. The balcony is a great addition.

VB is a hidden gem, a classic California motor court lovingly updated and transformed into a tropical escape. Rooms are small but spotlessly clean; ours had a kitchenette, new mini-split A/C and wall-mounted heater. Unexpected amenities included free water and name-brand sodas in the fridge, along with several fresh apples! Much nicer towels than we've had in similarly priced chains. The area was much quieter than expected on a Friday night. We didn't have the opportunity to try their café but the menu (in room) looks fascinating.

Comfortable bed, free soda, bottled water and fruit in the refrigerator. Real half and half for the coffees. Cozy Latin vibe. Friendly helpful staff. Everything in good repair.
