Villa Phonethip Mekong Riverside

The Family Room has a fantastic view of the Mekong and the Chomphet district hills, and is excellent for people watching. The room is very large and lovely. For me, a highlight was the bathtub. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy walking distance to everything. Toiletries were packaged sustainably. The tv didn't have any English speaking channels. Water provided in unsustainable plastic packaging.

The room was spacious and very clean. The beds are big and comfortable. The location was perfect for us. The staffs are very helpful, especially the front desk. There are not a lot of choices for breakfast. But it’s ok for us.

The location was nice right on the river. The breakfast was outsourced to a nearby cafe/restaurant which was only average - very limited choices. The cleaning staff did not make the bed or change the sheets at all and we were there 4 nights. We had to ask for more toilet paper.

Our room had a bathtub, hot water, and a comfy bed. No complaints!

Convenient location, very helpful staff, large family room. Good for a quick two night stay. A basic room considering the price (similar to the one stars we stayed at in other cities in Laos for significantly cheaper). I liked sitting on the balcony but just know there is a road right below you and trees obstruct some of the river view. And you get the noise and music from the river boats. Poor breakfast.

Great staff, and loved the location!

There is construction right next door, probably just bad luck with timing. There is a sewage line right next to the villa, which gives unpleasant smell in our room on the ground floor. There is leaking from the bathtub in another room that makes the floor wet.

Sook the lone staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. No terrace, view, WiFi, tv, shower curtain, hot water, small towels, all missing or broken.

Strong wi-fi. Good level in English Communication. No tea or Coffee in the room.

Not noisy, not crowded – Villa Phonethip’s got this real chill vibe goin’ on. I totally loved that lil patio in front of each room, perfect spot to sip some tea n’ just listen to the wind blowin’. The staff were super gentle, polite, and always up for a nice chat.

Ky ishte qëndrimi im i dytë në Villa Phonethip dhe ende ndihem si cepi im i vogël i qetësisë në Luang Prabang. Stafi më kujtoi nga hera e fundit, gjë që ishte një surprizë e ëmbël. Dhoma ishte e pastër si gjithmonë, me një shtrat të rehatshëm dhe një pamje të bukur të lumit. Mëngjesi, ndonëse i shijshëm, nuk ka ndryshuar shumë - do të doja shumë të shihja disa mundësi të reja herën tjetër. Por në përgjithësi, ngrohtësia dhe mirësjellja këtu vazhdojnë të më sjellin përsëri.

I had the riverside balcony room and the views of the Mekong, and the people watching, were brilliant. Excellent location with good selection of riverside cafes where you can watch the sunset while having dinner. Staff were great: spoke excellent English and gave good travel advice. I loved the bathtub! Sustainable toiletries. Given the location, views and bathtub it was very good value for money. The tv didn't work. The water was provided in plastic bottles. No bedside reading lamps.
