Perfect central location, excellent AC, great breakfast, good room size, and helpful luggage service. We recently stayed in a family room at the Hotel Madrid Centro Affiliated by Meliá for 3 days in July. The location is absolutely perfect and sits right in the centre of Madrid, making almost everything walkable. It is also just a 2-minute walk to the Plaza de España metro stop, which made getting around the city incredibly easy. Our arrival was lovely, as Elena at the reception desk was very nice and friendly, making us feel welcome right away. Another major highlight was the breakfast, which was great with a wonderful selection. Stayed at the family room and the basic room amenities fell short, especially given the intense July heat in Madrid. There was no fridge in the room, meaning we had to constantly go out to buy cold water just to keep the family hydrated. Additionally, the room lacked tea and coffee-making facilities, and no complimentary bottled water was provided. It would be a wonderful improvement if the hotel provided a water station at the front desk for arriving or departing guests. After checking out, we stored our luggage at their sister property, the Hotel Madrid Plaza España Affiliated by Meliá. They had a fantastic setup with a large jar of cold water available at reception for their guests- something that would be incredibly refreshing and highly appreciated at the Centro location during the summer months.

Friendly and helpful staff. 24/7 available. Location is easy and confortable for visiting the city, shopping and others. It is clean. Price/comfort balance is unbalanced. The infrastructure is quite old and so things like the airco system and ventilation are not functioning perfectly. Also, noise isolation in the rooms is limited, so you hear clearly the lift, the people in the corridor and so on. But location is fantastic and easy and staff is very helpful.

It’s ok for work and just stay. To expensive compared to others. Even bathroom don’t have brush. If have to ask to reception for this. Staff are not guests friendly

The hotel is central This hotel is a disgrace to the Melia brand. By far the worst hotel I stayed in. Expensive and very outdated. Rooms noisy, the floor is squeaky, bathroom very poorly made. Lighting in the room and bathroom is not enough, one cannot see. The bed is very uncomfortable, the mattress had stains. Cleaning in the room is superficial, if you move the bed a bit you can see dust and hair from previous guests. There is a constant hum from the centralized air conditioning which is from the 70s. Breakfast is nothing like on the published photos and allergens are not marked, which is a code violation. There’s no toaster, only a bread warmer that is more than 50 years old and would belong in a museum. Worst coffee I tasted, and everything very cheap. There was dried gluten free biscuit in a jar that can easily be cross contaminated. There is no vegan options besides the obvious fruits. Bread was stale. I will never return here, I feel grossly let down.

Breakfast was good, with a lot of options. Room sucked - had just an interior window - no natural light. Bed/mattress needed to be replaced. There wasn't even a mini-fridge in the room - super expensive and overall very disappointing.

    Disappointing

The hotel's location was incredible, and the room was spacious—though the bathroom was a bit awkward regarding the shower. The breakfast was amazing, and I have to mention that the coffee machine for making double espressos was fantastic. The shower in my room (number 711) was very uncomfortable, with very little space to get in. The elevator was small, though I understand that the buildings are very old.

Location is brilliant, you can easily walk or get thr metro to where you want to go in madrid Room was clean and bed was comfy. Our room was by the lift so was a bit noisy at times but it didn't stop us from sleeping.

The location is nice. There's no refrigerator or water in the rooms, the staff are indifferent, they struggle to answer your questions. You send messages to the hotel and they don't bother to reply.
