Everything. Bfast is superb, don't bother to hunt for local foods elsewhere as you can get the taste of malacca food during bfast. Room is clean. Parking available. Maybe doorbell at the front need to be louder ?. No complaint.

5 Heeren is a delight to the senses and an unforgettable accommodation experience for lovers of nostalgia especially Nyonya and Baba (Peranakan) culture. It is an exclusive and premium accommodation offering a window into one of Malacca's cultural roots. The property is reminiscent of a lovingly and slowly built mini museum. It has a charming cluttered feel and yet so engaging in its uniqueness and beauty. We delighted in the property’s incredibly long structural layout, restored fit out – lots of hand made glass light fittings, beautiful and authentic finishings and furnishings. The guest room was clean, cosy, fitted with warm lighting and furnished with genuine period pieces. The solid wood 4 poster bed added a touch of nostalgia. On a slightly different note, the bathroom was updated and contemporary. Accommodation was clean and spacious. Breakfast was included and came with a large variety including Peranakan style classics like white chicken with rice ball, nasi lemak, rendang, roti canai, nyonya laksa not to mention a wonderful array of local deserts (kuih-muih). Simple but nice beverages like coffee, tea and its variants were offered. The eating venue was in the sunken and covered courtyard where an ancient well once stood. The food's flavours were mouth-watering, and it was a memorable and highly satisfying nyonya meal. 5 Heeren is a brilliant accommodation if you have interest in and enjoy Peranakan culture and lifestyle. Conveniently located as part of old Malacca’s Chinatown giving direct proximity yet providing seclusion being just off the main tourist strip. It exceeded our expectations and we would only be too happy to return for another immersive experience when the opportunity arises. Nothing. It would be even better if the breakfast were a bit warmer.

This city and the people are extraordinary. Beautiful museum of a property. The breakfast in the morning was a highlight of the trip. The chill room upstairs was exquisite.

This hotel is one of the most unique places we have ever stayed! It is a building of such history and full of antiques and unique pieces. The staff are friendly are devoted to the history of Melaka. The breakfast was the most unique dining experiences we've ever had - be prepared to have your mind blown by the flavors and variety. The hostess was so enthusiastic about sharing her culture with us. The location is right in the heart of the historic city, walking distance from all the sites. Nothing - we loved the experience that is this hotel.

As the hotel was in Jonker Street, it can be noisy at night as loud music played along the roads. The hotel does provide ear plugs if necessary.
-
Environment can be quite noisy, need to take a room facing if you are noise sensitive

We loved the very unique building, the many antiques throughout the residence, and the location. Also, the staff was ready to meet us when we arrived and ensured a parking spot was available.
-
Excellent location in the centre of Malacca. Parking was provided and was convenient to the location. Quirky and interesting place to stay. Breakfast was very good and the hosts were attentive and helpful. Slightly noisy due to other guests but proximity of rooms was the issue.

The location is fantastic, the room was comfortable and the decor is like being in a traditional old home. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was generous. Being on a major junction may be a bit noisy at night but that’s part of the charm of being in middle of all the action.

The whole atmosphere of the hotel was amazing. There was so much to look at and take in, a truly unique place. The breakfasts were lovely, so nice to try all the traditional foods. Camilla and her staff were very attentive. Nothing, it was a lovely experience would have liked to stay longer.

This boutique hotel is perfectly located, right in the centre of Malacca. As others have said, it’s like staying overnight in a museum. The attention to detail is incredible. Breakfast was like an introduction to the very best Malaysian breakfast food available, super interesting and tasty. Loved staying here and would definitely return!
