Beautiful colonial property with a melting pot of cultural influences in its decor just like the city itself. Chinese porcelain and an open air garden area that feels like you stepped into Portugal. The spa was wonderful - we did a massage and facial package and both were excellent. Great way to spend midday when it’s too hot to be out walking around town. Easy walking distance to Jonker Street and the river. Best water pressure and hottest shower we’ve had in Southeast Asia (and we had just come from a stay at the Ascott in KL!). Reception staff were all exceptional and went above and beyond to welcome us and help us figure out where to eat the foods we were keen to try and see the things we wanted to in the short time (two days) we had in Melaka. Breakfast is quite a spread with great variety of sweet and savory foods. Rooms were a bit small with a very narrow path between the end of the bed to the bathroom.

Great location to Jonkers street and near bars on the river front. So many restaurants around to choose from. Breakfast was good. The hotel is beautiful and has so much history. Almost like stepping back into time. We highly recommend this hotel. Lacking hot water in the shower. The room was a bit small but not unusual given the history of the hotel. Beds were a little on the hard side.

The bathrooms were filled with small flies. No matter how much big spray or trying to wash them down the drain, they continued to return. Even a millipede crawled through the drain. 1 out of 3 guests had a comfortable bed.

Location is convenient to explore Jonker Walk and surrounds. Heritage house full of character. Rooms are not sound proof. Those facing the road can hear loud vehicle sounds in the middle of the night.

We loved the staff, very friendly and helpful. And tge Family suite was bigger than expected. We liked being in the Jonker neighborhood, close to the historical sites. The beds were a little uncomfortable, a bit harder than we are used to.

The location, the wonderful breakfast spread, attentive staff, architecture nothing

The parking was a bit fiddly with the barrier gate being closed at certain times (thus needing some communication with the hotel to open it). But this wasn't an overwhelming issue.

1) Excellent breakfast in semi-outdoor setting; 2) Beautiful enclosed, centre garden courtyard, with bar & adjoining cafe; 3) Relaxing massage/spa facilities, and at reasonable price; 4) Clean, large ensuite bedroom - better value than at most other Melaka hotels which I've stayed in, over 20+ years of regularly visiting Melaka (including upmarket 'Casa Del Rio' hotel, several times); 5) Tasteful, museum-like decor, with quiet ambience throughout hotel; 6) Pleasant & helpful staff; 7) Convenient car parking in secure area near hotel (drove down from Kuala Lumpur for 2-night weekend); 8) Proximity to famous Jonker Walk & to city centre (had looked for hotel in this location specifically). No faults come to mind (rare!). I travel a lot internationally, including many camping, glamping, budget, single/family stays, cruise/charter ship & luxury hotel accommodation experiences - so feel I have some relative knowledge.

Breakfast was good and had enough choices. The room was adequate for 2 persons and quiet even though it was near a busy area. Parking was convenient as it was private and located very near the hotel. Everything was fine. There was nothing I did not like. However my cousin and her husband on the ground floor informed me that there were some plumbing problems in their room which they did raise with the Management

We love the strategic location and free parking. Good selection of breakfast items, and friendly staffs. No ice machine.

Amazing. Lovely staff. Clean lovely room. Food was good. Location very good. No complaints at all. Staff esp were so helpful. Tq Angie n Lorna. Everything was great.

Nothing to not like.

open air car parking facility within walking distance to the hotel, walking distance to tourists spots. Those concrete pillars/frame along the driving (open air car parking facility) pathway to the open air car parking facility, may be hazardous when those above 1000cc touring bikes occupied the side of the wall. Forcing drivers to drive in/out using the other side.

The bed is creaky, shower temperature is hard to tune

The public areas of the hotel were exceptionally beautiful. The breakfast was good for a hotel of this size. Our room was quiet. The bathroom was great and the shower big with plenty of hot water After an initial perfunctory greeting, the staff was very helpful and friendly The hotel itself was beautifully appointed. We had a deluxe king room. The room was ‘meh’. Non descript and lacking in charm. The balcony faced a building several feet away. The windows are shuttered so there is no view, although ours would have been the side of a neighboring building. Our initial greeting by the staff was not welcoming, but everyone there warmed up to us and were helpful and friendly.

location was good love the simple breakfast especially the nasi lemak and the mee hoon goreng parking...i stayed there during the peak season so i couldnt get the hotel parking..instead i have to park my car 10 minutes walking distance but being paid by hotel puri. but i understand the situation ... my pinion..for breakfast should have coffee from the machine..your breakfast coffee so so only
