The Wave Manhattan Beach

The staff were nice, but the beds had to be box springs if not cardboard boxes. The floors had paint on them, at the door there was two large square holes in the wall with a smaller square piece of dry wall to fill the square. But it was too small, and nobody ever finished their patch job on the wall. I can’t stress enough how bad the bed was. But if it’s any indication, me and my party left at 9pm the night before check out because we would not or more rather could not sleep on those beds again

Breakfast ends at 9am really short if you ask me. the cleaning staff really friendly only thing positive about the place. Closest hotel to the beach

Good hotel and nice area and bigger room

The breakfast was simple but suitable for almost everyone. A lactose free milk option would have been my only change. The rooms were extremely clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable and the room very spacious. The HVAC units worked perfectly. The water pressure in the shower could have been higher is my only change to the room. We asked for extra towels a few times and it took until the next day to receive them. Otherwise the service was as expected! There is NO water fountain on the property is my only other bit of grievance.

I check in late and it went smoothly but when I went to the room it smell like has a wet dog in there and it has mold inside the room I went to the front office to change room nothing was available so I had no choice to be there I was fell sick the next day . I am very disappointed with that hotel it was in a great location

The location is excellent. It is walking distance from Manhattan beach and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby including Dunkin donuts, Starbucks and Target. There is also an excellent Thai restaurant across the road. The underground parking is also a bonus. The pool was also a great place to be. Although there was no tea available at breakfast the man on reception allowed me to use their urn to fill my therma mug and use my own tea bags whenever I liked. As others have mentioned we had to ask for extra towels so our family of four had one each. We were there for four nights and our room was not cleaned after 2. When I asked at reception on our second evening , I was told my room would only be cleaned if I gave permission. One day we were using the pool the police were onsite. They were supporting an elderly guest. This made me wonder if the hotel is used by authorities to home individuals in welfare emergencies. As I say -we did not feel threatened in anyway but it did give the stay an unusual feel. Breakfast was minimal and not of good quality as others have mentioned. But we did grab fruit and the wrapped muffins which were ok. If you are heading out for the day it was fine for something to grab. There were plastic tubs in the hallway catching water and the hotel had a bit of a rundown feel in the communal areas.

Staff informed us our rooms were not available due to bad drainage and that we would be moved to their hotel next door! We can still walk over and use the pool! I wish they would have let us know earlier or offer some sort of compensation for the inconvenience! The sister hotel was not in good condition.

The room was nice, but the swimming pool was down. It was not running, so that was pretty disappointing…

I like the swimming pool it was up and running and it was amazing, and they also had a Continental breakfast, I will definitely go back

Could not figure out how to work the TV, called the front desk several times over 15 minutes, they never answered. Disappointing. Parking is not free, but $10, as was advertised. Overall good value for the money.

The front desk staff just didn’t seem like he wanted to be bothered, and I understand it’s a long day but, wasn’t welcoming or even greeted

Nice convenient breakfast bar in the morning. Nothing fancy but enough to get your day started. Amazing location with great parking too. Manhattan beach is a great little area to hang out. Can get to most places in LA from here but remember it’s a BIG city. Would happily go again

They had zero customer service skills, and zero resolutions. Would not recommend and would NOT stay here again.

The cleaning staff were excellent and very friendly and attentive. The day shift manager needs improvement in customer service as well as speaking to his employees in a more professional and respectful manner. The night manager was great. He was very friendly and respectful. Pool was clean and nice to swim in. Could use more pool towels at the pool. Breakfast needs improvement with more items and freshness.

The balcony view was clean. I didn't use the laundry room. Rest of the hotel was nice and clean. The bed wasn't that comfortable, but overall good place to stay minutes from the beach
