Convenient and great location for what we needed to do. Leaving

Nothing - I would not recommend it shower over the bath was dangerous - nowhere to hold onto when steeping back onto the floor. not railing. now where to hang a towel. Noisy - room on front near rod. no sound proofing. the curtains did not block out the light from the road. they didn't cover the whole window. the elevator was dangerous - regardless of the warning to watch your step.

The female on the front counter was the rudest most unhelpful person , with no people skills at all , I have ever encountered on my stays in any motel in Australia in my 70 years of being on this planet , travelling for business for the last 45 years

Room was bigger than was expecting, tidy and clean. The location was perfect for reason of stay. Even though we were on a very busy road there was minimal outside noise. Bed was comfy and woke feeling somewhat refreshed. Good water pressure in shower. Had a meal onsite which was quick and convenient. Would use again if needing too.

Great place to stay It's our go to in Melbourne. Have stayed many times and will definitely be back. It's a little dated but everything is clean and functioning and great staff

Building is very run down. Carpets desperately need to be replaced, property isn't very clean, the lift was quite scary to ride. Staff weren't very friendly. Location is difficult for ubers to access.

Broken bedside lamp Taps in bathroom dripped unless tightened way too tight Curtains didn’t cover the window completely

Room service food wasn't very good.

From the time we got there, we were greeted with a warm smile, making it super simple to check in. The room we occupied was neat and organized, with enough space for three people. We had our meals at the Polo Cafe on the lower level, and it was a pleasant experience; the food looked great and tasted amazing. If the room key card always worked, I wouldn't have had problems getting into my room. I got locked out of the building a few times as well. Thankfully, there was always someone from the staff around to help me get back inside and fix my key card. I believe they should invest in a more reliable card reader and writer.

Air con not working. Bed was lumpy. Bathroom tiles dirty. TV was crap.

Close to public transport and a short distance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. The restaurant was nice. There was no hot water so we couldn’t shower and the building is showing its age. We’ve stayed here numerous times before and always enjoyed it, but don’t know if we will again.

The beds were two singles pushed together and they kept moving and separating. there was no where really to sit in the room and the TV was very tiny. The lift was also under renovation and a little scary.

They promised a car park space over the phone call while booking and they refused at the spot and asked extra money. Since the call was from my office and I showed the recording there staff promising the car park still refused. Inside lift feels like it can drop anytime. Rooms are so terrible you cant even imagine that mercure brand can do this.

We stay here twice a year due to Specialist appointments near Royal Melbourne Hospital. It is convenient for us. In the room if there had have been 2 chairs so we could eat at the table.

    Disappointing

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

We picked the Mercure because of its proximity to The Royal Womens Hospital where our daughter gave birth to twins. The Mercure is a bit tired but the rooms are very large. The hidden gem of this hotel is the downstairs restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was really good. Breakfast was limited but very fresh. The staff made great coffees too.
