Hotel Restaurant zur Post

The daily free breakfast was quite varied and generous. A/C wasn’t an amenity that I shopped for but thank heavens the Hotel zur Post had it. We hit a heat wave while in Melk and friends in adjacent properties were begging to come over and sleep on our floor, reading chair, etc. I realize the Hotel was sold out while we were in town and consequently the staff was quite engaged but a little more Gemütlichkeit could have really up-lifted our stay.

The city

The breakfast was very good variety and everything was fresh and tasty. The hotel is family-owned and run and you can tell they take pride in everything. The restaurant for dinner and lunch was also excellent with interesting and regional specialties. The room was very clean with comfortable beds, good shower, and fantastic views of the abbey.

The hotel is within an easy walk from the train station with a direct 25 minutes connection to the airport. Large and comfortable rooms The neighborhood is not particularly inviting in terms of coffee shops and restaurants The hotel bar/restaurant has meager choices. The hotel is kind of dated but well maintained

Very nice hotel. Centrally located. Restaurant food was good however we had an 8pm reservation and felt we were rushed to order due to the kitchen closing

Location and the breakfast nothing

Zur Post had character, charm and warmth. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom situation in Suite 400 is a little odd but the rest of the room was lovely.

The bed was comfortable and they supplied ebikes. Room was clean. Good location Didn't like all the steps and maze to get to the room. Staff wasn't well informed. Evening restaurant service wasn't good. The food wasn't good either. Room was noisy from restaurant and we were 2 floors above restaurant.

The reception staff was friendly, helpful and took note of my husband’s difficulty with stairs and gave us a room that was close to the elevator. Much appreciated! Good breakfast. Salad bar was nice, but too far from the restaurant outside.

The location is superb, with a magnificent view of the Abbey, and close to everything in the small town. The breakfast and bar had great service and food. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Loved it.

The hotel is centrally located, very clean and the staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms are big and very comfort. The room had an AC which was useful specially when the weather was hot. They were very accommodating and did their best to assist. The breakfast was good and satisfactory.
